Buying my first car Help

Saving for my first car, so i am gonna need help deciding what type of car to get for my very first.
And affordable my budget isnt gonna be big sense its gonna be my first looking around in the ranges of $2000 to $2500 will apreciate any advice, opinions, thanks !

 

So this is a lil out of your price range but I'm happy enough with the car to suggest it anyways and say you'll save more than enough money to make it worth the higher price tag

I drive a 2010 Mazda 3 and delivered pizza for years / made tons of trips outta state. I've owned it since it was brand new in like 2011 and have over 160k miles on it and it still runs perfectly. You can find a used one for $5-6k based on what I'm seeing online (dealership offered me $3k for mine) and the car's great if you're looking for one that's going to last.

Unfortunately it's the only car I've ever bought so I don't have any cheaper suggestions for you, but good luck man. Don't rush the decision.

 

Recommending a Mazda b3000 5speed manual. It was my first truck, and you can buy one for around 2 grand. They run like a champ and last forever. Good work truck too

EDIT: also you'll probably want your first car to be manual transmission so you know how to drive pretty much anything so it's a major plus (excluding semis and work trucks 6 speed+)

 

Honda Civic would be a good cheap,reliable car and there good on mile per gallon for gas.

 

buy a shit heap that is good on fuel. nothing worse then owning a car that you cant afford to run or buy parts for

 

My suggestion is to get help from a dealership that you might know and go to auction. there are many good cars with your price range you want.if you don't know anyone that is a dealership then you going to pay up to $500 to a dealership since for auction you gotta get a licence.

 

Get a 2000-2004 Corolla, Civic, or Accord. It'll be cheap and great gas mileage while also being extremely reliable.

 

I would stay away from 01-05 civics, they are always cheap for a reason. Especially the automatic ones.

Audi A3, really solid first car

 

idk if any one should have a german car for their first....when I was still a mechanic, about 80% of what people brought in for major repairs was german vehicles

 

Look for an older Toyota Corolla or Camry. They are going to have a lot of miles but they will be the most reliable in your price range until you can afford something a little newer with better safety features.

 

Go german, you won’t regret it and you’ll probably find a new love for cars

 

Nissan 350z could probably find one cheap with the right local seller.

 

At that price range you really can't be bothered with the aesthetics of a vehicle imo. I would strongly suggest you go for a reliable a to b car with working A/C and heat, something along the lines of toyota corolla or camry, and honda accord or civic. They fare very well with gas mileage, and replacement parts are generally cheap too, efficiency is important when you're on a budget. Using resources like FB marketplace, CL, apps like letgo and offerup, and maybe even a few dealerships you should be able to browse a wide selection of appropriate vehicles.

I would look for something with good tires, well-kept maintenance, and preferably some recently replaced parts. Ask the questions you need to, take your time, and be happy about your decision in the end. Plenty of other resources online when it comes to buying pre-owned vehicles, I would suggest you take a look at a few. This is based off my experience living in the states, could be different for wherever you're from.
