[APPROVED/REVIEW] Change to Name Sales

Bump in case anyone cares at all.

 

Whenever i have bought names i have refused to accept the level 3 & asked for help from the name sellers, most are helpful enough to do so, I think people just have to stand up for themselves a bit!

Sellers should be at fault for any services, It's just common business practice.

Say you buy a bond from Jagex and for some reason the bond never appears in your account, You make a report and show proof of payment, Next Jagex says "Sorry you payed for a service and didn't receive your bond, We won't be able to offer a refund or give you a bond. "

 

The real question here is, when you’re buying a rare name, are you buying a product or a service? When you’re buying a bond, are you buying a product or a service? Products and services are two separate things and they should also be treated that way in the market too.

 

A name is a product as is a bond. If you purchase a product and don't receive it, you file for a refund.

 

Exactly. A name is a product and a name transfer is an optional service. Thus, the product and service should remain separate.

 

You're happy selling something to somebody with no guarantee they'll actually get it. Pathetic lol

 

I sell accounts with rare names on them, and guarantee that they are always accurately delivered.

 

Aren't they one in the same? You purchase a product form amazon and it is damaged or lost while being shipped you get a refund or a replacement. The service is just as much to the product as the product is to the service. Yes they are different but without one you can't really have the other. At the end of the day the Seller should always do everything within his power to offer a great and effective Service or Product. Any unwillingness to do so shows bad practice and those seeking service should avoid those people.

 

You are and always have been a joke. You know fine rightly your customers want the name on their main and I'd bet less than 1% of them have ever kept it on the shitty mule you give them.

 

If I sell a name to someone who intends to buy a name for the purpose of reselling, you’re saying that I’m required to transfer the name to the account of the buyer even if they’re just looking to flip it for profit? If I’m not required to transfer in this scenario then wouldn’t that mean that transferring is optional?

Your suggestion is based on assumption. Assumption that every person buying a name intends to transfer it to their main account. Unfortunately that isn’t reality.

 

Some names are sold 2-3 times before they are even transferred once. Which means that yes, the product sale does
Exist without the service taking place.

 

That is the customer service aspect, You identify needs of your customer, If they want it for a main it would be great to offer that service which you could even charge extra for if you wanted. If they intend on reselling or don't want that service you give them a mule.

 

You’re right, if you’re able to offer the service along with the product and want to enhance the buying experience for your customers then that is up to the seller. So why should going above and beyond be a set standard? When left optional, this is an example of how you’ve can go above and beyond to surpass competition who don’t offer the service in combination with the product, I think it’s a great idea for people to take the initiative.

 

I don't know the market and risk involved in name selling, I do imagine a lot of scams do happen based on what people say, If a set standard of at least offering the service would prevent just half of those scams it should be implemented.

Anyways like I said I really don't know the risks involved and never name traded, I wouldn't even buy a name because of all the horror stories surrounding it, I just gave my opinions based on what I would want as a customer and what I would offer if I was a seller. If there isn't a problem with how things currently are then keep it the same, If there is a problem then there needs to be a solution.

 

I hear you on that, without the experience it’s really hard to understand the condition or process. Just to put it into perspective, I’ve probably sold between 100 and 150 names since this thread was started months ago, none of my buyers have had any issues with transferring names on their own, and actually they’re really happy with my service from a customer service perspective as well. Haven’t had any complaints

 

What you should do is buy the name or whatever but not transfer it until x amount of time later, so the snipers will be caught off guard. For example, seller is from the UK, do it when they should technically be "sleeping" that way there's less of a chance for snipes.

 

I doubt people are going to give out their geolocation for the sake of this. Just make them move the name for their customer, nobody has their private information revealed that way.
