How do clothing brands get started?

Serious question, how do they really get started?

I was thinking about making some clothing for some event and stuff but I cannot seem to find anyone who can manufacture for us. I have designs in my head but idk what the next step is... How will I get a physical version of my idea.

 

A great clothing company to look at is fubu started in his garage.

 

how did they create the clothing? i have ideas but just not the manufacturing knowledge

 

teespring is a good start, you send them a design, they will put it on products and ship it for you.

 

Just buy a fabric printer or you can buy certain ink for normal printers and print of designed. You can then put the designed onto the clothing and iron on the design

a fabric printer is quite costly, saw some prices at £1000+. Currently taking small steps so I think i might just use manufacturers like teespring as 4usq mentioned

 

the designs i am going for a quite complex. making them on the website apparel creator is quite difficult I would assume i am forced to buy something like a fabric printer then?

 

Do you need to manufacture the clothes yourself with your own brand or ?

 

my own brand but I don't have the manufacturing means, just have money to pay a manufacturer i guess. The designs are complex and most online designers dont facilitate the complexity on their online creator.

 

Mabe try finding, a local custom tailor, that can custom, make a sample, of your clothing, brand first, before going with full on production.

 

There was a local one not too long ago but it’s relocated elsewhere. I’ll definitely try find some irl if I can, but are there any online ones that allow me to do something similar(I.e sample)

 

None that I am aware of most stuff would be made in house or contracted out with a tailor and the designer team sorry that I am unable to help you out with an online source.

By riding some trend and then pivoting into regular clothes once they are a recognizable name.
