What's the reason for the drop in gold prices?

I heard prices are at $0.70 now? Less than a year ago they were at $1 weren't they? That seems like a pretty significant drop to me, any ideas?

 

maybe because more and more coming to gold farm and bot ,
when osrs came out at 2011 1m gp was cost 10$ after 1 year dropped to 3$ then 2$ then 1$ and he gonna keep going down more and more

 

Yeah I guess it's just due to an increase in botters in general. I heard something about some people being hacked over at OSBot and the hacker dumping 70B into the economy? That's why I was curious.

 

Of course , for example is there water seller on the street and his only one selling water on X street so all the money going for him , and on the day after came 4 water seller to the same street so the money gonna be shared by them ,
and that what happened on runescape.

 

I wonder how much more it's going to go down. It just seems the prices dropped faster than they did in RS3. Maybe we need more gold sinks.

I agree we need more gold sinks; vorkath is done by like every 110 on this game and sh*ts out 2m+/pure cash per hour. Situation isn't going to get better long term

 

Standard decline in prices. Happened to RS3 and happened to OSRS so far.

 

- more gold in circulation
- ineffective money sink
- economy mmorpg. Same happens to almost all.
- more sellers undercutting

Game is slowly dying because it’s fucking cancer. (Sorry to all that I offend but it’s true) Players are leaving for games like fortnite, pubg, etc. wish they would have kept it bare bones and not done rs2 all over again... they brought in claws, all these fucking raid items, other shit i don’t even know what it is. Like damn I thought 07 RuneScape would be 07 RuneScape. Pretty much they remade pre-eoc but keep adding other shit. Literally unplayable. If anyone wants to click fortnite on xb1 tho slide ur boy a dm and we can run some duos or squads. Got like 200 wins. So yeah fortnite + dying playerbase = less demand for gold = lower gold prices. Gold won’t go above 70 cents again. Book it

 

If any of you really noticed, this is planned by Jagex. They stopped giving a f*ck about being stingy with gold and made it more obtainable. The recent updates proved this such as Vorkath 2m p/h, Revanent caves 2-3m p/h, Lava dragons 1m p/h etc.. It's clear they're trying to make gold worthless so it'll sway botters from thinking it is not worth botting, because at the end of the day it's not the gold making them rich, it's people buying membership/bonds. Even if it is nearly impossible to bot on RS3, they are ALSO doing this on RS3 with the recent updates, you can research that on your own.

Jagex is doing this on purpose to deter RWT just enough to keep their business model. Yet let it go enough to keep players.

Jagex knows RWT is an essential part of their game (remember free trade ban? LOLOL). Jagex could literally get the receptionist or janitor to browse around all the shops and forums just banning and this would stop 90% of rwt if they really cared. They have always controlled the price of gold, no one else ever has.

Just a few low value orders from a Jagex employee on a gold site could crumble the whole operation.

Wtf is this bullshit, have you ever played RS? You honestly think that Jagex has the ability to ban 90% of rwt? Jagex has never controlled shit, there has always been a slight decline in price of gold as more gold comes into the game. It's a natural state of any game with not enough gold going back into the game.
