should i get a new pc? right now i have a 3.0ghz with 1gb ram and 320gb hard drive. i bought it for $150 for my mom. i want my own for my room. soo what should i get for (trying to keep the price under $200 but can go a little more)

 

Stick with the computer you have its fine and your not going to find anything better for $200

 

That depends. 3.0 ghz doesn't say much as there's a big difference between a 3ghz P3 and a 3ghz Xeon processor. But instead of getting a new PC, perhaps you could upgrade the RAM/Video Card in your existing one? There aren't that many decent PC's for around $200.

 

agreed. i think u should just save up ur cash for something more demanding then a computer. more things will come up and ull wish u had the cash. but if ur bent on getting a new computer look in the bargin newspaper and keep an eye out on ebay or something. ur bound to find something

 

A 3gHz P3 doesn't exist.

 

bleh, I meant to type p4 (which does exist). Just my 3 button is right next to the 4 and I'm typing in the dark. And the point was just to show that the clock speed isn't the only thing that defines the speed of the processor, not whether or not a 3ghz p3 processor exists.

Anyway, his PC is fine for now. Although a dual-core 2.4gHz easily leaves a 3.0gHz P4 for dead.

 

Just get moar ram and a better processor.

 

A computer for under $200???? are you going to get it at the dump or one thats 20 years old?

if i were you save up. get a good computer for your room and if your a gamer. your going to need a good video card as well.
