Do I need a VPN if I want to provide RS services?

Would I get caught or banned my main if I was leveling accounts and questing accounts and other services if I kept using the same IP? Or do I need a VPN in order to not get caught?

 

You can play as many accounts you want under the same IP, just avoid breaking rules like RWT, or you might get ban hammered

 

IMO, not only does it protect the seller, it protects you
i.e. you service their account for a week and they bot on their account afterwards and gets banned. Your IP is now tied with an account that got banned for botting. (which isn't ideal). and vice versa.

I have been in the market 6 years servicing accounts, many of which people bot on afterwards. Not once have I been banned for servicing, I have switched internet providers twice in that time.

 

well i have open disputes because ip flagged ban
i got 4 accounts perm banned same time same date
one of them my cb 5 skiller 99 fishing 19m exp on it
i appeal the ban and got unbanned
so be aware

Your IP gets on a banned account, Jagex now has a record of it?

Still doesn't sound really smart to have your home IP out there.. and if you've been doing this for 6 years on your home ip.. "Nice try buddy".

Seems you're too much of a dickhead to understand how banning works so i'll explain.

- The real answer is NO but i'll scoop to your stupidity and logic.. Oh yes you're going to get banned for something that Jagex clearly knows everyone and their grandmother actually does which is account shares (hence what servicing would fall under) they have no way to know if you're actually selling a service or generally playing the account.

Do you think they are able to access databases from PayPal, Skrill, bitcoin as a few? Of course not, stop being that guy who thinks he knows something he quite clearly hasn't yet educated himself on yet. Yes accounts do get locked every so often, but this is due to mass amounts of IP changes so they lock it for the users protection.

I would think being someone who is quite clearly heart broken that I pointed out you fucked up you would at least give me a half decent reply. Then again, we are not talking about botting, we are talking about services here which is a complete different subject.

There are however people like @Spizz who live in third world countries where a lot of bans happen and they tend to use IP's, it's really situated on where you're from. If your country is marked as a gold seller hotspot like China and so on yes you're going to want an IP.. Simple logic.

That's right, and once Jagex flag your IP, every account you touch under the same IP is in danger.

My recommendation: If your IP is static and you have commited an offence (botting or RWT) its time to change ISP or start playing in a VPN or a proxy (my case).

Whilst my IP changes slightly every so often, my IP is pretty much always the same, and of course they only really pay close attention to those shifting high amounts each day.
