If God wanted more converts, he'd do it again. If it violates our free will now, then it violated the free will of those 2,000 years ago.

It makes me laugh how Christians flaunt their fairy tales as fact. 2000 years? 2000 years ago there were dragons flying around and water was turned into wine. 2000 years ago you could summon bears to kill people:

"And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them." (2 Kings 2:23-24)

So why did these miracles stop happening? God was clearly active on the Earth, making firestorms, swallowing up cities in earthquakes, summoning bears to kill people, did he just go on vacation? 2000 years ago as depicted in the Bible is clearly a fairy tale, you are just not able to see this because you had people pounding this story into your head since you were born. So this story is as real to you as material objects are real to me.

He was doing anything wrong, and regardless your parents could have asked him to leave at any time. I\'m guesisng being polite or not they were listening to what he had to say. Religious people arn\'t all in cults, alot of Christians liek music and games liek us, maybe not such dark stuff. They do care about others, and I think what that plumber did was cool. I am a Christian and proud of it, true Christians don\'t have 3 wives and come to yoru door selling Bibles. I\'m not trying to preach to you, just saying alot of Christians will always be there for you when other peopel such as parenst ect arn\'t, join a youth group its actually pretty cool. I\'m not saying christians are perfect, i sin, we do everyday christians or not.

Well when you are making mistakes to the extent where I can't understand what you are writing, then I think there is a problem.

No I'm not bitter, I'm just tired of people trying to convert me. And oh look you did it again, thanks.

You seem clueless about reality, if you ever want to discuss Atheism, add my msn.

It's an undisputed fact of history that Jesus existed around 2000 years ago and was crucified by the Romans. Even the most devout atheists will agree with that. You'd be a fool to think otherwise.

What he did during his time on Earth is what is disputed. Did he do miracles? And more importantly, was he raised to life after he was executed? That, my friend, is where the debate lies.

So, you're saying you want God to die for you AGAIN?
You have a bigger ego than I thought.

You don't know bitter until you meet the people I hang around with.

Funny thing is, the only Atheists that openly try to convert the masses are the attention seekers and "hardcores". The Christians do it all the time, no matter their social status. I am _so_ tired of being preached to, so I find it quite funny that people think that preaching more will convert me and many others who think the same way as I.

The plumber was just a noob. He may have been a "cool" person, but honestly, he's just a robot for his church. Following things his parents have taught him since childhood. I was never enforced with Christianity, and I find the concept quite a laughable idea.

If he tries it again, just look him in the eye and tell him you want nothing to do with it. If he persists, tell him to leave. If he then persists, call the police.

You, along with most other Atheists that I've talked to seem to think that every Christian was raised in a Christian home with Christian parents. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. I suggest you have a chat to a few Christians who were not brought up in Christian homes.

Better yet, you should all read The Case for Christ by Lee Stroble. He is a world-renowned journalist who set out to prove that the Bible couldn't possibly be true. Nevertheless, the became a believer after conducting his research.

Not every Christian, just the majority.

And as for the guy who converted? It was his choice, for which I could care less about.

Once again, you are wrong. Maybe that is the case where you live, but there are millions of people who are first-generation Christians out there.

Anyway, what does one's upbringing have to with their choice in religion? I know people who have grown up in Christian homes and have later rejected all forms of Christianity. I also know people who have grown up in atheist homes and have become Christians later on in life.

That, of course, is not to say that brainwashing doesn't occour. It does - in cults. But otherwise, the average Christian is no more brainwashed than the average Atheist.

You should stop stereotyping. It just makes you look like a fool.

I'm basing what I say on those around me. Not those who I don't know whatsoever. Those around me being at my school, mostly.

The upbringing largely has a part to do in choice of religion. Again, it may not be so where you live, but where I live, it usually does. People go to churches at a young age due to their family, and get the image sunk deep in to their immature mind before they have the chance to make their own choice. I was Christian right up to the 5th grade when I DID think for myself. It's really quite sad.

Those whom I speak of are the door-to-door preachers, the chaplains and teachers at my school, the charities and of course, most of my peers around me (I tend to hang out with the "darker" people, if you know what I mean (no, not skin colour)). All of which try to convert me, and all of which get laughed at and sometimes even humiliated. Humiliation being the fact that most of them cannot even provide a reasonable excuse for argument. I laughed out loud when someone said "But dude, you'd have to be pretty creative to write the bible, don't you think?". I literally laughed.

Anyway, I don't hate all Christians, but those who are unreasonable, those who try to make non-conformers' lives a "living hell", or those who preach until you get so annoyed you want to punch them (generally worse ... If I had a rifle sometimes ...), THEY are the people that I hate.

Sorry if this seems like babble, I acknowledge that it may be, but shit happens when you're tired.

And right there, the truth comes out. To you, being Atheist is not about not believing the faith for a logical reason. You seem to suggest that you reject Christianity simply because there are Christians around you.

That, quite frankly, is stupid and that kind of thinking makes me ashamed of this generation.

I may be mistaken, but that's what it sounds like from how you worded your post.

Also, you seem to be suggesting that I am incapable of thought. I don't know whether to laugh in your face or to be insulted.... I guess I'll give it some thought.

We are not trying to "convert" you, we are merely trying to share our faith and pasion for our God with you.

There isn't a line that you suddenly cross and are "converted"

True. Becomming a Christian is a decision an individual makes. You can't be 'converted' by another person.
