    The site makes money when people fill out surveys... So if you do surveys, the site gets some money and then they use some of that money to buy PINs and other prizes for the people who do the surveys.

    Well for some who can't buy their own membership or maybe can't afford membership, it's a good option to get a free PIN...

    Both

    You do surveys and get rewarded for them with points and then you redeem the points for PINs or mils.
