Can you "see"/visualize things in your head?

I can make faces of people close to me flash for a split second but it's not like you'd think... it's like the same blackness but if I start thinking "Brittany" or "Mom" I can see the face briefly, but it doesn't replace the blackness... kinda tough to explain I just tried it after reading this

I'm able to do it with any of my senses, and it can be vivid at times but only really if i focus on one area. It's also not really linked to what i can actually sense at the present moment. It's basically on the level of thinking of a song in your head, which doesn't mean you can't hear or focus on anything else. I can do that with all of the senses on demand.

I daydream a lot and if I've just woken up, unless i force myself to move I can stay in a state similar to lucid dreaming. Imagine texting someone and then they text back, but in reality they never replied and you just dreamt/imagined it.

I'm bad at visualising aswell. If I get, it takes a lot of focus and I can never get things in full detail, I would describe it more like a ghostlike (see through) appearance of the shape.

When imagining words or when doing maths, I can imagine text and numbers clearly though. Places I know well by memory go better too.

 

i have to really be trying and it impairs my ability to do anything else in the moment

 

Imagination is something you work on. Also hallucinogens can potentially altar the way you visualize mentally for life.

absolutely i do, i think everyone does. it's just like a vague visualization. life is crazy
