For fans of early 90's Powerviolence and Grindcore, share and recommend new bands in vein of your favorite bands.

Right now i've been listening to alot of California Love and Endless blockade, for fans of sludge and grindcore, these two bands mold the two genres with a finishing product that will give you chills.

Im seeing them in Vancouver in August, tell me what you think.

Also, if anyone is a fan of early 1st wave grind violence like crossed out and man is the bastard, check out scapegoat, 100% CS worship

Simply post a band involved with the culture discussed in this thread, and i will provide you with music that has relations with yours, (as long as its REAL grindcore/PV, if its something like atreyu or underoath, im not going to help you).

I found scapegoat pretty nice, although i'm not a fan of this genre. Carcass's early work is as far as i go basically :p

Some would call Carcass "grind for beginners" haha, check out Immolation and Bolt Thrower, i personally prefer bolt thrower but they have a really selective sound that only applies to some. Immolation is your basic, brutal death metal band, many like them but they are pretty good.

Yes, i like many brutal death metal bands. Necrophagist and Aborted are amongst my favourites. Immolation is a good band as well. Malevolent Creation isn't too bad either :)

I hate this stuff. I just can't appreciate just crazed guitars and drums and screaming. I don't know a single thing the guy is saying.

I am a big big big fan of the genre's but I really don't use the term power violence for any band except Man is the bastard. I love early napalm death, insect warfare etc. I could go on forever listing bands. Favorite band you would consider PV is Iron Lung but basically anything 625, Slap A Ham, Deep Six, Common Bond etc etc.

Currently listening to Neanderthal - Fighting Music which is fucking classic.

yeh I've heard that. Orchid rules hard, I never get sick of chaos is me, dance dance or the split with pig destroyer. I'm so siked on ampere playing here in australia in a month or so, we rarely get many good bands here except the occasional good local like pisschrist.

That sucks man, Graf Orlock, Ceremony, Go It Alone, The Endless Blockade, Die Young, Dangers, Pulling Teeth, Career Suicide, Mass Grave and In Disgust are just some of the bands that have played here in the last few months, or are booked to play in the summer.

We have a huge music scene, but most of the local bands are just shitty metalcore or street punk.

I would be fucking stoked to see ampere, i was thinking about going to Indianapolis in june for dudefest with insect warfare, phoenix bodies, hewhocorrupts, ampere etc but i couldnt get the money :(
