It states that we have all these holidays ect but I think 400+ years of captivity we at least deserve something to claim our own. Picture it like this, whites are like the little boy who cried wolf. If people sincerely wanted to stop being racist I think we would stop referring to different categories of people by race. But that's not going to happen anytime soon, though I can see it becoming a lot less important in a few generations once everything is mixed up a little bit more due to interracial breeding.

Anyway... we have stereotypes of other races for a reason - they are mostly true. White people have stereotypes that fit them too.. it just happens... it may be true that black people are responsible for the majority of gang violence, but I assure you it's true that us white folk are responsible for the bulk of the evil in our society, we just pull it off on a larger scale and justify it by slapping a friendly name like "capitalism" on it.


Now about racism... it still goes on, and it goes both ways so neither side should be bitching about unfair treatment. I live in a small town, and yes, the cops treat black people a lot worse then they treat most white people. They are racist assholes, there is not much I can do about it.... now at the same time, black people will treat me like shit all the time just because I'm white. At the moment, especially in more liberal areas where black rights are more "politically relevant", black people have the upper hand because they have the benefit of political correctness backing them, they can get away with a lot of shit white people can't just because the white people are so busy trying to be politically correct about everything they do in order not to offend anyone, and most black people know it.

We have an appreciation month and black holidays is to show appreciation to African Americans who fought for our freedom and end segregation.
