Do your parents just get on your nerves sometimes?

I'm Amber and my mom be gettin on my nerves right now. She's just naggin about nothing sometimes. It's like she doesn't stop! i was telling her that i won AP Tour tickets to see Forever the Sickest Kids and that i'm going to go with a couple of umgd friends and then it started World War III. ohmigosh, made me so mad coz she's just naggin and saying how unsafe those places are. i don't know if i'll be able to go now, but i'm really into this song called Whoa Oh and it's going to be uploaded on their myspace.com/foreverthesickestkids at midnight tonight so i'm really trying to stay up for that unless she yells at me to go to bed. so do any of you have parents like that, who be just naggin just for the hell of it so you actually listen to what they have to say?

 

That sucks, but at least they only nag a little, my parents are complete retards.

She's being overprotective. Happens a lot with most parents, for which reason I have absolutely no idea why.

Just get a friend to pick you up a few blocks away, and sneak out the back. Face the daylight when you get home, sure, but make sure she gets the point that you actually are an independent person.

 

Well my dad gets on my nerves when he wants me to go with him to places like parties and I don't like that lol. Sometimes they brag about my big hair covering my eyes and face but we made a deal I keep my hair if I vacum the house o_0

My mom admitted to me that she's crazy, then when I suggested we see a doctor and get medication she refused. But I diagnosed her with bipolar disorder since she can get mad extremely easily and turn happy again fast.

My dad has no social skills and he tried to turn me into one of those kids that only does homework 24/7 and gets straight A's and goes to top school. Then after that didn't work he told me I was a failure and I can't do anything right. I think my dad most likely has schizoid personality disorder.

I have the best mum we sit round and smoke up together, its a great bonding experience and something I never thought would happen

My parents gave up long ago, they grounded me and I climbed out of the window jumped onto my dads van and left a dent on the roof.
I left the house at 2am to go to the park, just left a note saying i'd gone so they didn't ring the police.

Just face it when you get home, what can they do except ground you and when they do that they are at work so.. :$

I get on my parents' nerves, and they get on mine. It's just part of life. The key is respect. I respect how they feel, and they do the same for me. I don't always get what I want, but a little compromise on my part is well worth it to preserve the relationship. I won't be at home for much longer, and I want to leave on good terms with my parents. After all, don't I owe it to them?

 

My parents are Russian, so they think they are supreme rulers over me and that I have to do whatever they say without question. Compromise with them is futile.
