Found the article when i got bored and searched runescape on cheatplanet.com, very interesting imo.

I personally don't think many people would buy for $100 when they can play for free / $5 month.

 

well im sure if they put it on xbox 360 or ps3 then they would make the graphics alot better and change the combat so its not just click and hope for the best.

No, the graphics would be the same. You would just be able to play it on your PS2. They would probably make the analog control a cursor type of thing.

I say this because I doubt they would completely rewrite/redesign the game just to move it to platform.

if thats the case then that is very lame. tho you would think they would make it better since they are talking about ps3 and xbox 360, would be a complete waste in my mind. and how would the be able to do updates?

not that i care i dont play rs anymore since staking is gone and cant buy pins.

 

I'd have to agree with you here. Who would want to play RS on a console and not interact with anyone but the NPC's? I personally think if this idea fell through, it would fail like the recent updates.

 

1. How is that different than any other non-online RPG?
2. The article does talk about online play - which it would probably feature if it were created.

 

You would only be playing it on the PS3, it would be like buying games on the Wii. You can buy Super Nintendo games, but the graphics aren't any different. They aren't building a brand new Runescape and putting it on the PS3, if they were then maybe the graphics would be better. But they are just porting Runescape to the PS3 and 360, would be no different than online play. I could be wrong, I mean they could make a special world for only console players; where the graphics are pumped up. But it seems hardly feasible with the Runescape engine and whatnot. Remember, it would still be in plain old Java.

I think you are missing the concept. You will still be playing regular old Runescape. You would be using Xbox Live to play it though, or whatever the name of the PS3 online gaming is called. There would still be other real world people that your playing with. The only difference is that you would be playing on your console, with a controller.

lol, instead of a new console based game, fix out fucked up graphics on pc!!!!

 

Imagine that, runescape with PS3 graphics it would be awesome
