Before we begin, download these:

OK, this is how we make a private server...

STEP#1: Go to www.no-ip.com

Once there, click 'Sign-up now!'

This should come up:

Fill out all the information it asks then click 'I accept, create my account':

They will then send you a confirmation email, once received, confirm your email adress.

Ok, now go back to www.no-ip.com and log in:

Under 'hosts/redirects' click on '-add':

This comes up:

Ok, now where it says 'hostname'-thats the name of your server. (using jpdeshiznetscape,no-ip.org) you would put 'jpdeshiznetscape' where it says hostname, and 'no-ip.org' in the box under it. Once you do that, scroll down and click 'create host':

Now, find the tabs near the top, and go to 'downloads':

Now select whatever operating system you have:

Then click 'download':

Once downloaded, install it.

STEP#2: Go to 'my computer':

Then right click, and click 'properties':

Find the tabs on the top, and click 'Advanced':

Then click on 'enviromental variables':

Then click 'new':

After clicking 'new' a box should come up, for Variable name, type:CLASSPATH...For value type:Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_07\bin;%CLASSPATH%;.

Then click 'ok'.

STEP#3: Open up the source you downloaded from the begging of the guide. Find 'run', or 'runserver'. When you have found it, right click on it, and click 'edit'. It should look something like this:

'Testscape server'-the highlighted words) is what you change to the name of your server. Once you change it, click file>save. Then doubble click 'runserver' or 'run' and leave the black box that comes up running.

STEP#4: Open moparscape ( download from the beginning of the guide if you havnt already ). type in a username and password, and then click 'login'. Dont change the ip of the server.

GRATS YOU NOW HAVE A SERVER!

Step#1: Open your Autospawn.cfg file:

Now heres what all that stuff means at the top:

NpcID-the id of the monster.
CoordX-The x coordinate of the monster.
CoordY-The y coordinate of the monster.
Height-The level the monster is on ( 0=flat ground, 1= above ground 1 lvl)
RangeX1-The x coordinate of the range the monster can walk.
RangeY1-The y coordinate of the range the monster can walk.
RangeX2-The second x coordinate of the range the monster can walk.
RangeY2-The second y coordinate of the range the monster can walk.
WalkType-The way the monster walks.
Description-A description of the monster.

Ok, now for adding npc's.

Copy and paste one of the already done npc codes. It should look like this:

Or something simular depending on your source.

Now, change the '54' to the ID of the monster you want to spawn.

Stand where you want the monster to spawn in your server, and click on the running guy to find your cordinates:

Where it says X=3209, your going to change the second number(2665) from your autospawn.cfg, to 3209.

Where it says Y=3425, your going to change the third number(3161) from your autospawn.cfg, to 3425.

You will leave all the rest at 0's if you dont want them to move. If you want them to move, change the rangex1, rangey1, rangex2, rangey2 to the cordinates you want it to move in.

Step#1: Open up your character file:

Then open up the charecters file you want to edit:

Now, under the part [CHARACTER], you should find 'character-rights = 0'. If you want to make them a mod(silver crown) change the 0, to a 1. If you want to make them an admin(gold crown) change the 0, to a 2. If you want to make them the owner, change the 0 to a 3.

Open up your character file, and open the characters file you want to change the stats on.

scroll down and you should find this:

I've have been following your tutorial and for some reason when i clicked on the "running guy" the coordinates did not appear. Is it something wrong with the server perhaps? Dying to know!

I did it!!!!!

kinda....

i did everything you said, and i couldn't figure out one same thing... when i go to the runserver thing, i cant edit it, i can just view it... UGH!

Also -

The server wont work, i did everything you said and it still doesn't work please help, much appreciated!
