How old is to old to drive??

How old is to young. There are tons of crash because of young drivers. One of my good friends got in a crash and his friend died. so i ask you sythe how old is to young to drive i also ask how old is to old?

i say 16 is a good enough age. if you are a mature adult then you should be fine.

How old is to old. i think it depends on there person driving. if he/she is 100 and playing baseball and basketball everyday then let her drive. but if she is 50 and can barley see then dont. i think when older people get to 62 (or collect social secuirty) they should have to get there eyes and what not checked out every year before they can drive.

 

Age really doesn't matter, its all about maturity. If you are an idiot and like to show off all the time, then you should not be allowed to get them. I like to show off once in a while, but i know when I am reaching a point where it turns dangerous, so thats when i stop.

About how old, this is kinda controversial. My 90 year old grandma still drives, and doesn't have any problems with it.

too old is when your reflexes, vision and co-ordination is to shit to control a car.

 

Agreed, my grand father was driving at 90, he was very healthy, and had good eyesight due to him being a healthy food addict =] For many 65 year olds it gets too much but it all matters.


I'm really sorry that you're friend got in a car crash hope his alright, really sorry to his friend and family of his friend that died that's so sad I believe that 18 is the age that driving should be started, anything under can get messy.

 

My grandad is about 95 and has one eye and can barely see out of other, he goes about 5mph everywhere. BAN HIM NOW!

 

Omly depends on the person on how well their organism works so they don't go off the road. I'm sixteen and I'm lazy to get my drivers license now lol...

 

I don't think there should be an "Over aged" limit.

Just at say, 60 years old, they retake there test or something.

Make them go for a "checkup" every year,

If they can't drive anymore, don't let them.

I say 15 is old enough *if* the person is mature enough not to show off and your only to old to drive when you break a hip going over a speed bump

 

After you turn 60, you should be forced to take a test each yeah proving your ability to drive. People should be able to get a full license at age 15. Of course you'll still need to take a test.

Another thing is the drinking limit. I hate how(In America) you have to wait till your 21, yet you can die for your country at age eighteen. Makes no sense.

I can't bear the herds of old people in their frustrating little cars, going at the speed of slugs.

 

I feel that age isn't the issue, as many older people are quite healthy and drive well. It should be based on the quality of your senses. as most old people only drive slowly because they cant quite make the things infront of them out properly and cant find intersections etc.

I feel that the transport department should have patrolling officers in cars similar to the police who check for elderly AND other drivers not driving right and book them in for a compulsory practical test which they have to pass to keep their license.

 

i say they should take a test around that age to see if they are annoying or not o . O

 

Where I live just about everyone goes the speed of slugs, during the 5o'clock rush it gets annoying when your in a rush and your stuck behind a bunch of old coots who can't go faster than 2mph. I say that if they can't walk up and down stairs, walk in a straight line and keep their eyes open for more than an hour, and also, if they can't remember who the president is or who was the first president then they shouldn't be driving.
1. About the stairs, that just shows that their agile.
2. Keeping their eyes open, well that just makes since. Who wants a sleeping 60 year old on the road? Not me!
3. Straight line, checks their sight.
4. Current president, shows if they have good memory.
5. First president, should be obvious, if they can't remember then they should be told who and be retaught stuff.
Also, once they reach 55 they should be taking a test to see if they know what to do during certain weather, with police coming down a road etc. If they fail then they should go back to a special drivers ed for older people.

 

^ oh yeah because those are all so important to driving. A driving test would be fine. Chances are if they're going senile, they wouldn't be driving anyways.

 

Do more deaths in car wrecks occur with Elderly or Teens? Just because someone old drives slower than everyone else at least they are being cautious because they can't see or what problem they have. Teenagers take it to the level that they are the best driver in the world and nothing will ever happen to them. Thats when people get killed.
