[APPROVED/REVIEW] Change to Name Sales

Saying things like the following make me doubt it

 

What I’m trying to get at is, is the problem people or process?

 

Both. We can't change people through the internet, not really anyways. The problem with the process is that you can scam and get away with it. There is NOTHING stopping somebody from scamming at the moment, making a noob take snipe responsibility and taking the name back.

I'm trying to change the process because we can't change people. Nobody loses from the changes proposed, you still get your 50m, customer gets their name, all that is takes extra is 3 minutes (literally, sometimes less) on your end to move a name for them. This goes for everyone with a name shop.

 

Been a while, more ideas along with staff responses are more than welcome.

If most name sellers know how to do this then I support. Name sellers are usually more knowledgeable on how to transfer and protect names when transferring, therefore they should do the transfer.

 

I don’t see why anybody wouldn’t know how to transfer a name, it’s very self explanatory lol

 

I share Dunworry's view on the third page, I'd rather the risks be put on the traders who know everything and can generally trade pretty safely if they choose to given how shitty of a market it is.

 

This reminds me of when I asked you and only you to move a name for me then you priced it at > the price of the RSN itself and then it was sniped leaving me on the hook for the refund when I was essentially just a middleman to the trade in the first place

I support this suggestion, as 90% of people in names section are very sketchy

Sure, some of the people that exclusively trade names on here are pieces of shit. Don't derail the thread with your personal vendetta, I'm trying to remove the scammers.

 

I posted support for your thread and gave reason why. Don't derail your own thread with stupidity.

 

Why would the majority of the name sellers wanna change things, they'd rather just scam newcomers

 

Thread is old enough to where it should have already been resolved or closed.. but IMO the seller should have full responsibility for the safe transaction of the name, if the name is something that would be sniped the seller should FULLY disclose this and warn the user that the name may be sniped, and then the responsibility goes to the hand of the buyer. If the name is out there for sniping then the seller or buyer has likely released the name to other people, that's why I think that name's list should be kept private until someone shows interest in a specific name. You can't ensure safety if you are careless with the information. With that being said I believe @Milotic is expressing the same opinion, so I support.

 

This is even more important now than at the time of posting, bump.

Bit disappointed by how this is still completely ignored.

This is a great suggestion for helping clean up the names market. For anyone that's been saying that it puts the seller at an unnecessary risk of the buyer sniping the name, this is impossible if the seller knows what they're doing (which you should if running a name shop). Willing to spend the bonds to show this too if any mod wanted to try, in any way, to snipe a random test name from me transferring.

Putting the responsibility on those that should be experienced enough should be a no brainer to help protect the noobs that just want to safely buy a name without having to worry about scammers like the ones @Milotic listed in his OP (that abused their trust to snipe from naive buyers).

This is how me and @Milotic have always been operating, and have never had the issue of a buyer losing out on what they paid for (ones that have let us transfer for them, that is). Occasionally there's people that refuse a transfer and want to do it themselves, but I've found this to be very rare. Like 9/10 times people want a guaranteed transfer.

Please look into this suggestion again, it's worthy of at least getting a solid response, despite the answer.

 

Hey guys, I just wanted to update you that a couple more months of sales went by and still none of my customers have had any issues with their names being sniped.

No support because I still don’t think it’s necessary to over complicate the sales procedure with this suggestion.

 

Sniping is a pretty common complaint from many of the top name sellers that sell anything valuable (other than me and @Milotic). When your average name sale is under 100m 07, let's certainly hope there's not too much concern. Bit of a difference when constantly selling them for 200m+, with a handful going over 1b+ 07 with no issues

Let's not forget your buddy @alanvong12 that has probably complained the most about names sniped from him, enough so to always put them in his signature.

 

Alan’s names were sniped 2 years or more back, when he can admit that he didn’t have a clue what he was doing. I’ve sold a handful of names over 100M in value on a weekly basis or even more common than that. My customers can vouch that they haven’t had any problems over the course of the past year (maybe more)

As I said previously, I think the problem is the people, not the process.
