Why use XHTML to write a HTML page? XHTML is for writing applications, content MIME type should be application/xml (iirc).

 

because when someone sees that you coded a page in xHTML, they think it's better then if you said "I coded it in HTML".

Don't you think Darby's orb is circular and awesome and colorful and glossy and circular?

 

What program do you use to make your webdesigns? Darby said MS Paint, but I figured Photoshop.

 

Let's say I have an image gallery, there are thumbnails of pictures on tne front page and when I click on a thumbnail, a page opens, with a larger image and the description of the image.
Now the question is, if it's possible, how can I make like so, that all the thumbnails link to the same page, but the picture and the description in the page change according to what thumbnail I clicked.

It's circular, it's pink, has a gloss, so yes, it is.

I make photoshop mockups, then code them in dreamweaver by hand.

Have you heard of lightbox? that would be good for something like this:

You would need to open your layered file, and hide the white background layer, and save the file as a PNG, as it will have Alpha transparency because of the drop shadow and the like.

ok how did you make the xl designs thing.

 

If you're referring to the one in my sig, that was created using the pen tool to make the xL symbol, then used a few filters on a pattern set to soft light for the background, then built up layers of light with a soft brush and blending mode changes liek soft light, variations of color and an outer glow.

 

I'm assuming your using photoshop?

I'd suggest a more sans-serif font first of all, different color choice, messing of blendings, etc.

 

How did you make that old sig of yours the Metal looking one where it had like PM a link to you site...Tuturial im not sure if those are right but..

 

there aren't any tutorials that i know of, i did used to sell a rather large tutorial i made myself that teaches how to do it, if you want to buy that, you're quite welcome.

 

I hope it's ok to ask about CSS.
I'm learning CSS and I have a few questions.
My WIP:http://hot.ee/kampsijunn/youcanttouchthis/index.html, yes I know that the design is horrid.

**Question 1: Why is the navigation list outside the #menu div? The #menu div cannot be seen at all, if I set a border to #menu, it appears to be above and behind the navigation list, although the navigation list is inside #menu in the HTML.

**Question 2: How can I remove that space between the navigation and the #wrapper edge without using a negative margin?

**Question 3: For example, the "Please" navigation block, how can I make the whole navigation block appear as a link, now only the text is a link.

i can help you with that here:

1.You make the normal photoshop thing you want to animate
e.g. a guy with a ball... so you would make 1 layer of the guy with ball in hand make the ball go down a bit each layer etc.

2.Then file>edit in imageready/ shift+ctrl+m and your animation should be messed up because all the layers are on top of each other so click on each frame and hide the other layers (and do this for each other layer)

not sure if this helps but if it does =)

also theres different times for each animation like .2 .5 seconds etc.
