Struggling

So i'm 20 years old at the moment and being confronted with deciding what i want to do in the future;

I studied Laws for a year, went great but didn't feel like doing it for 5 more years so this year i decided to go study event & business management instead.
But it seems like i'm just very sick of studying i just can't be bothered anymore, i've always dreamed of starting on my own. Currently working on that while "studying" but what do you think is it too risky to stop with school and chase my ambitions?

Also have the issue of getting absolutely no support from home if i'd quit school i would also have to move out.

 

Maybe just continue to work on starting your own while still in school and if it works out and you still believe school isn’t for you, then you can always leave then. However, don’t leave now while your business hasn’t gone anywhere yet or anything because you don’t want to make a bad choice and end up homeless or shit like that. My biggest suggestion to you though is to work on your own while toughing it out and getting through school. This is so you have a backup plan incase your business plan falls through.

 

Don't drop out of school, but try to approach school with a different mind set.

See it as a Plan B, but a very important one. Keep being entrepreneurial on the side, but be patient as it may be a while before any of your projects take off.

Having your education as a strong Plan B ensures you have more doors open to you as potential ways to cross over the bridge into a stronger career.

For example, you may use your qualifications to do a job for a while simply to network more with people and start saving some money to put into a business idea.

What I want to remind you of is you're young. Do not buy in to the stresses of other people who are overthinking it. Your 20s is where you should be trying different things and learning your skillsets. Education is important, but it doesn't have to be your plan A like most people think. It can always be your plan B and a tool to support your Plan A.

 

Stay in school. If you're truly determined, you can do both IMO.

 

My advice to everyone ever. Finish your degree, then chase your dreams. A degree is a man's weapon in this world. You can live a decent life as long as you have a degree. If you fall from the top while chasing your dream, a degree will always feed you.

 

All of the above is true , Once you take a year or two off school you will never want to go back to that way of life , ie having little money and studying all the time.

Especially when your used to having a good wage from a full time job.

 

That's such a false statement.. Most people who have turned their life in a huge success never even had a degree.

Determination is key in this world, not a degree.

 

But its also nice to have a degree to fall back on

 

I never said a degree is the weapon to reach the dream, i am saying its what you use when life brings u down.

 

Join the military. Was once a lost young boy as well and since joining it’s given me knowledge and experience that you wouldn’t get going to school. School is something you can always pursue afterwards. Military ain’t for everyone but if you can follow through it gives you loads of doorways. Management positions become entry level jobs if you choose to get out.

Depends on what you mean. Depends on circumstances. I come from a broke family background with no chance of ever going to school. So no. I got out after service and make more than I do when I was in.
