Yeah, I know the top got cut off.

 

It looks pretty cool... just needs some text.
I don't really like how the edges of it fade though.


Edit: Can I ask how you got those lines? I've seen that on some other sigs and i've always wondered how to do it :\

 

Nice work. You defanately could go with a smaller edge, it kind of makes this more of a button, rather than an orb. Also, it does need some sort of content within it; [text, logo, etc]. The reflection is a bit large, but it still looks nice.

I like the fading of the edges, gives it more attention and ya text would be nice and the color choice is nice and simple, good work

 

Thanks, I even got the reflection down even though it is a bit large. I didn't want to put any text or anything in it, because I thought it ruined it.

Edit:

It's a pattern overlay, on just the inner part of the orb.

Btw, yeah I suppose your right about leaving the orb blank. But if you add the right content within the orb, it will improve it rather than ruin it.

Since you followed a tutorial I can't blame you for it being so bad.

- the reflection starts behind the orb...
- the light added looks pixelated,
- the shadows along the inside rim don't fit with the light.

 

Well I think it look's great. I might be partial to the colors because I go to UNC.

Yeah it's really like, the first thing I've messed around with the reflections. I'll try to make them better.

I gotta learn how to have the light come from like a side angle view.
