Simple donor perk

Create a new tag/option when making threads located below post icons like:

Donor amount= (U can enter up to ur maximum donation amount), so in my case $750

Color: Green, Purple, Blue, Red, Yellow,Rainbow

So when I post a thread I enter the donation amount I want displayed and then select a color(from bubble options) which colors that donor amount.

Example(non-donor):

[Trusted]Buying 07 gold[ 10+ vouches]

Example($200 donor):

[$200 DONOR][Trusted]Buying 07 gold[10+vouches]

The donor amount will appear at the start of each thread & is more of a tag - it is NOT part of the title, however can be customized/changed as needed the same as thread titles can when u click "edit" a thread(so users can edit the amounts/colors at will).

Each donor tier gets access to a new color option, the other options are greyed out if u don't meet that donation requirement for them/ doesn't let u select them, or u could do where users who select ones they don't have access to @ their current donation amount get told "This is a perk for X amount donor or above"

$5-$24 donor = Blue(hardest to see, lowest donor was the idea)

$25-$99 donor=Purple(2nd hardest to see)

$100-$199 donor= Red

$200-$299 donor = Green

$300-$499 donor = Yellow

$500-? donor = Rainbow(Or another color)

$750-$1000? = ? Possible higher tier colors aswell over $500?

I think it would be sick to see the above come out with colored thread titles, Imagine if u could have a Yellow $750 donor status coupled with a dark red thread title or something like that.

Also provides incentives to every donor group - People will donate just to get the specific color they want as it makes their threads more attractive.

This would tie in really well with colored thread titles coming at some point - It'd provide a lot more custom ability for donors who will gain further custom ability based on how much more they donate.

Note: This would NOT be effected by purchased thread title colors(when they come) so if I buy a green thread title I am able to set a red

tag in front of that - It is also NOT included in the amount of allowed text within a thread title(how many characters u can have in one).

This will have the side effect of increasing the maximum allowed title space for all users who typically include [$500 DONOR] and so on within their titles, thus allowing us to make more room for something else.

People will donate for the colored donor amount, people will also donate for the extra allowed title space since we wont have [$500 DONOR] (12 title characters) taken up anymore.

Thoughts?

 

I think the colored thread titles are enough of an eye-rape itself, If we add colored donator tags that would be too much imo.

 

Not everyone will be able to afford a colored thread title though.

What about those $25 donors who cant afford $50 a month to color their thread title, the pricing hasn't been publicly discussed yet but it could end up being VERY expensive because the gold giants will fight over having the best looking thread which is VERY good money for Sythe.

This basically fills a giant hole where if u donate your guaranteed some color in ur thread, then u can buy more color if u want.

I really like this idea, it solves a problem and is a solid perk , it also grants donors more title space without actually having to expand thread titles allowed characters on the tech side.

If you give all the donors the ability to do this it will take away the effect of attracting attention that you want to create by getting a colored thread title. Also i like how it looks now, just clean without color Sythe isn't a coloring book and i hope it won't ever become that.

 

Let’s try not to turn Sythe into a pack of skittles. I like the idea but it could do without unnecessary color tiers.

 

I don't support this. I find it would make a mess on threads down the line. Having threads hard to read isn't good in any form for the forums

 

maybe if this was limited to only high end donors, 300$+?

 

If every donor group has access to the coloured feature option then what’s the point, nothing will be unique. Set a donor threshold, even then have a colour scheme which isn’t to overpowering.

Richard denies this every time something like this comes across. I like the idea because I have the funds to donate as much as needed to have the best color, but it's just gonna get denied anyway

Something along these lines could be cool. I think the details may need to be ironed out a bit nicer, but I support the general idea because this is something everyone puts in their titles anyway, may as well automate it and give it a benefit for the user and the site.
