the reason why marijuana is illegal

If it was made legal there would be less deaths for example, when you buy a tab of ecstasy you don't know how pure it is, what supplier it's from or whether it's even ex. If it was available over the counter this would combat the problem, same with cannabis. Cannabis has no harmful chemicals in it but when people spray the bud when packaging to add weight nobody knows what's in the spray.

There are no known health risks associated with careful use of cannabis. The only side effect everybody talks about is the brain having difficulties from the THC. This is not proven.

 

A study was carried out but anything could have caused the mental issue, it was not a fair test. The chemical THC is actually proved to aid concentration while relaxing the body. That's why it was used in medicines. In the UK pretty much everyone in government used cannabis.

 

If it became legal i don't think there wouldn't be marijuana drug dealer anymore as it has become legal people will start home growing it.

 

No they will do like what they did in places like Amsterdam, just have vending machines full of cannabis, people won't bother home growing it when it can be bought at a local shop.

It's likely they would as they want you to buy off the companies so that the government gets some tax off it

 

i think its illegal because they need more reasons to arrest people and fine them because they have to fill a certain requirement of fines

and tbh tobaco is 10 times worse than weed.tobaco kills more than murder does.weed doesnt kill people,you cant overdose on weed.it might give lung cancer but tobaco does alot more than that.

tobaco is only legal beacuse the government get a lot of tax from it beacuse its so addictive it gets bought alot.thay wont do that to weed beacuse its not addictive and people can stop doing it when ever thay want,which means thay wont get as much money.thay dont care who dies or lives,its all about money.thay keep something legal that kills more than murder only beaccuse it brings in alot of money.

I live in The Netherlands (marijuana is legal) and it doesnt work like that... Let me explain.

Drugs are sold in special shops you can only buy a X amount of marijuana each time. Owners of the shop have a licence to grow a X amount of marijuana They can't just make shit loads of marijuana and sell like 100Grams to a person its not allowed.

Because if you legalize marijuana or not there will still be a high demand for Hard drugs.
I don't believe that people in the US use less hard drugs then the people in The Netherlands.

 

I believe the law in the Netherlands should apply to the rest of the world. As what is happening, people over there are trying to sell the drugs they get for much more to people in other countries. People visiting there also try to bring it back, causing major problems. If the law in the world was the same, there would be no problem.

 

Well this is part of the reason, but the main reason as a whole (Your reason was kind of like a branch off of this) is so people don't act like f**king idiots. You can't get the drug if the price is too much. Look at people who do weed today, and look how many stupid choices they make.

 

Don't stereotype people, many famous and respected people have done the drug as well as royalty and government. So please do not use a stupid stereotype, you obviously are narrow minded and go by the people who get stoned rather than just enjoy it.

Marijuana is not physically addictive, unlike tobacco, and does not impair ones ability to function as harshly as alcohol. The reason Marijuana is illegal is because of the governments jailing machine know was the drug war. The drug war is a true failure, millions of innocent people in prison for possession of a "harmful" drug, which has no known health effects.

The myth that the smoke from a joint is 5x more harmful can also be laid to rest. Do you know anyone who smokes 2 packs of joints a day? No? Other countries (Amsterdam) have legalized marijuana and they seem to be doing fine. The loads of bullshit that has driven into peoples heads about the "danger" of marijuana is lies and cherry picked information.

The truth is Marijuana is the least harmful drug that one can do, with moderate use. No one has ever died from Marijuana as a result of overdosing. It cant happen.

Another reason why marijuana isn't legalized are lobbyists, tobacco lobbyists and alcohol lobbyists. If Marijuana were legalized it can be made cheaper, faster, and more effectively than tobacco cigarettes and alcohol, and it takes for less dosage to use. Nicotine users might find that pot would aid them to quit smoking = less profits. Alcohol would suffer when Marijuana became the drug of choice = less profits.

The real reason it became criminalized is because of lumber company lobbyists. Hemp (a paper making product extracted from Cannabis) is much cheaper to make than paper from trees, therefore lumber companies would lose money. Marijuana legalization would also help save our forests.

The United States Constitution was written on hemp paper.

To sum things up Marijuana is not legalized because of greed.

excellent ideas, i agree that it would take money away from the government and such, i never knew the constitution was written on hemp (hopefully thats true cause that is sweet) and you are also right on how it is less harmful and stuff than alchohol and tobacco. the leading thing that anti-marijuana people use against us is that it is 5x worse than tobacco smoke (like you stated) i wonder if the government would consider legalizing edible thc which would have like 0 bad effects and would get the government money most likely.

 

even caffeine is more harmful than cannabis, all of cannabis' chemicals have been tested and no harmful results were found, but they did find that it aids concentration. Coffee on the other hand only 1000 of the 2000 chemicals have been tested, and 20 of those caused major health issues when tested on rats.

Cannabis is safe, and actually has health benefits.
