Sub or dub?

Which do you prefer and why?

Personally I like dub better because my first language is english. However, I don't mind sub and I would watch it if the anime had no dub.

 

I'll watch dub if the English voice actors aren't terrible. After watching so much anime you can kinda tell which studios have bad actors. Most new shows don't end up getting dubbed until about 3-4~ weeks in anyway so I won't watch dubbed unless I rewatch it since I'd have to wait an extra month.

 

I try to always watch sub just beacuse I like it better unless if I'm tired at night nd watching anime in bed then il watch dub.

 

I usually watch sub cause it sounds better, doesn't sound like the voice actors for dubs are trying lol. There are a few that are good though , and those i dont mind

Like have you guys seen naruto dub? lol jeez...

 

Naruto dub is awesome I think I'm going to start getting more into sub. It's not bad and I can't be held back any longer.

 

Dub over sub for me, unless the english dub (or dutch dubs on tv over here) is absolute garbage

 

dragonball z dubbed are great, funimation does one heck of a job. However i don't recommend other animes with english dub. They sound unreality

If you are a real hardcore weaboo you watch sub AND dub

 

Dub if you're doing something else and trying to grind out episodes, sub if you wanna enjoy it and pay full attention to it

 

ALWAYS sub except the the original Dragon Ball. I watched DB in dub.

 

dubbed over subbed anyday. In my opinion when people say the japanese voice actors are better that isn't really a good argument if you can't understand anything that's being said, i guess their tone or deepness of the voice makes sense but half of the time the english translations are probably equally as wrong as people claim dubbed are.

I'll watch subs if the anime looks really good and there is no other choice. Only ones i've watched the full seasons of in sub are SAO 2 and is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon, as they were being released since the story line is great. but i downloaded and rewatched SAO as soon as it was released as dub.

I like to multitask while watching anything and you can't look away from the screen without missing a chunk of the story when you have to read the words the entire time to know what is being said.

 

It isn't that they're better it's just being fluent in English you can tell which English voice actors are terrible.

 

It really depends on a lot of things, but I tend to favor dubs.

Why? Because if I was gonna watch an anime with both the sub and dub being high quality, I'm gonna pick the one that I don't have to read the whole episode and can appreciate the art style more without text being partly in the way.

But if there's a good anime and there's only a sub for it? Yeah, I'm not gonna complain. Both are fine really.

 

Depends on the anime for me, either can be good depending on the voice acting for the english dub

 

Sub, most dub anime is cringe to watch unless you have favorites. If I have to watch dub I prefer the voices actors that were used in guild wars.

 

Dub because I always multi-task and don't mind worse voices, but if i'm in a mood to just sit and enjoy the anime, Sub usually, although this blind hate for dub is unjustified imo. Sub though once again if i'm strictly watching anime and not multi-tasking.

Sub because in dub the characters mannerisms can be lost imo
