    What's Beyond Space?

I have always been wondering this, but I suppose we will never know. If you think about it, space cannot continue forever can it? If it does stop, then what is beyond space?

I still have no logical answer to what is beyond space, since it cannot just continue forever. Here is some insight into the topic:

"Asimov answers that they stuff beyond the universe is so incredibly
different from what we have here, that we cannot even begin to
consider it. He uses the example of an ant, which lives in the desert
where it has never rained. The ant can walk a long way, and has a
large magnifying glass, which it holds up and enables it to see for
miles. But all the ant can see is sand.

The ant cannot begin to imagine that there is stuff called "water" or
what it is like. We are in the same situation as the ant, when it
comes to the universe. Asimov's answer is that the only thing that we
know to be beyond the universe is "non-universe".

Whilst this isn't much of an answer, it is the best that we can do.
Whatever is beyond the universe is very different indeed from what we
have here. Space and time are uniquely tied together, and will not
exist in the same way outside the universe.

Physicists are arguing about the fundamental nature of matter, and
they don't agree with one another. There are theories that propose
different numbers of dimensions of space, and different relationships
    between space and time."

If space does end, and there is an 'anti-universe' what is that, or beyond that? It cannot just be blank space, since what would that even be?

    Please post your thoughts.

Space, being nothing, can go on forever, who told you it couldn't?

    What's Beyond Space?

13bill light years are universe ends. Who's to say that is where space ends? 100 billion or a billion billion light years there could be another universe of sorts. Galaxies make up our known universe, who's to say our universe dosn't make up something bigger? And that something even bigger. Or just nothingness. We'll never know.

    space and then more space.

    What's Beyond Space?

There is a theory that there are multiple universes. The distant bodies were shown to be accelerating with the change in the redshift, so that means that there has to be something out there that the galaxies are accelerating to. So there either has to be something out there, or the redshift readings are wrong.

    What's Beyond Space?

Space is expanding exponentially as we speak. So, there is an expanding frontier but it is infinite. It is to vast for us to comprehend.

    What's Beyond Space?

Space, no matter what it be.. WILL go on forever. You see even if there was something beyond the realm of space WE know, if it was something, ANYTHING, it would be considered 'space.'

    What's Beyond Space?

Matter is neither created nor destroyed. - Antoine Lavoisier

Energy is neither created nor destroyed. - Julius Robert Mayer

The total amount of mass and energy in the universe is constant. (E=MC^2) - Albert Einstein

Compare these three famous quotes from three different scientist.

If the universe is expanding as we speak, where is the matter/energy coming from? The total amount of mass/matter and energy are forever constant, being neither created, nor destroyed. The universe isn't expanding from more mass/energy, which isn't referring to you, Uber, but to Sythe users as a whole, I suppose.. Energy and matter are changing substances and forms to make the universe larger, but neither is becoming more plentiful of just creations ..

Elements are fusing and defusing, making different elements, which thus, create the universe. I believe that light, being energy, is broken into different particles, which produce dark matter. Then, since light travels through this dark matter, the dark matter itself fuses with the elements that reside inside of it's confounds to make more light. The same energy, in this theory, is being used up constantly, being neither created, nor destroyed .. only changed.

    Get it?

Alas, that theory would in future terms disprove your statement. Whether true or not, I'm not sure .. I'll look into it some more later .. :]

Space is curved, if you go far enough you will probably end up back where you started. The universe is probably like a bubble, but you can't touch the edges. Ther might possibly be other universes forming a foam.

    What's Beyond Space?

I can accept that it is always expanding, though expanding into what? I mean, even though it is expanding there must always be something in front of it? What's beyond the expansion.

We will never know I suppose, but it would be extremely interesting to know.

Think of this, some people say that if you keep going you will end up where you started. Similarly to this, if you start at one place on the Earth and fly around the entire globe, you will end up where you started. Though, the point is space is beyond Earth, though what could be possibly beyond space? (since it's already nothing basically).

    What's Beyond Space?

There is nothing beyond space. Infact, there is no 'beyond space'. The universe simply expands.
I don't understand either, but that's just the way it is.

Why is it so hard to believe that it just goes on forever?

    What's Beyond Space?

Infinite is impossible to comprehend, so we say finite.

Fact is, we don't have the technology to know what's beyond our universe. Does it end there? Does spacetime apply to the space we apply it to? Etc.

Questions that will likely remain unanswered for many years to come.

    What's Beyond Space?

This is why the big bang theory is often thought to be correct. The universe is expanding in a way that means that everything is accelerating away from everything else. If you look into the night sky, in all directions there is redshift, because the universe is expanding. If the universe was moving toward something, only half the night sky would show redshift readings, as the other half would be technically moving towards us. Or in fact, scrap that. Assuming that we ARE moving, and assuming that everything is moving at the same rate, there would be no to little redshift at all, as on a relative scale there would be no change in distances. If it is an uneven movement, then there would not be an equal level of redshift at all parts of the sky.

That said, that doesn't disprove the idea that the universe is moving. However, it is a separate idea and not proved by redshift readings, imo.
In fact, the universe itself could be orbiting something greater, or moving towards something, I just believe that it is impossible to tell.

    Well, that's my opinion.

    -

I would personally imagine that beyond space there is
    - Nothing/Infinite Space
    - Other Universes (See Multiverse)
    - Greater Celestial Objects or Arrangements
    - Something else, of different form or structure entirely

However, as I have no proof or evidence to suggest toward or against any of these ideas, I remain neutral.
