You won't be flamed, but why wouldn't you? There are some 100 billion stars in our galaxy, and some 100 billion galaxies that we can see.

I would say it's unpossible that there's not life on other planets. We are less than a spec of dust in a football pitch compared to the universe, there are billions of stars in millions of galaxies, i'm pretty sure that's more than enough chance for a life to start. For all we know there could be life on Venus, or a moon of Jupiter or Saturn. The only pictures we have are grainy black and white things, or photos from thousands of miles away.

No, you won't get flamed .. Not on my thread, at least ..
Iminess, you can't see 100 billion galaxies. Telescopes and satellites which give scientist information about that which most can't see is what we rely on. Besides, you can see quite a few galaxies and stars if you looked into the sky on a good night .. You probably won't know what you're seeing, but you'll see it ..

Based on the size of the universe. Guess how long it would take for an Earth spaceship to reach Alpha Centauri? Even with crazy alien technology which could hit the speed of light, it would take more than 4 years. It's just not economical.
Pointing out British spelling (Also known as the original, or the correct spelling) just makes you look like a fool. I look past your Americanised words and sentence fragments, so maybe you can make the effort to read it like it was supposed to be written.

If we assume that aliens can travel as fast as light (A very unlikely feat, and travelling any faster is impossible), then to travel to Earth from VERY VERY CLOSE would take, quite literally, years. Now, if we make this a bit more realistic in terms of their ships' capabilities, and a bit more realistic in how far away they are likely to be, we're talking millions of years of travelling. Millions of years of travelling into nothing? I don't think so. So let's assume they look through their alien telescopes etc. and scope out the Earth. They all load up in their spaceships with their dinosaur disguises, they get here, and there's a load of damn apes! Any race advanced enough to travel that far would not overlook the possibility of evolution, of superior technology being built at home, or of the possibility of a malfunction aboard the ship and the loss of (literally) millions of years worth of work.

Pull your head out of the Star Wars films.

Completely agree, why anyone would think a race would travel for such a long time for basically no reason does not make sense to me.

Thats crazy, seems like this would be a bigger thing.. I mean its hard to believe.

I'll admit I only watched the first two videos before looking up "Brown's gas" on Google due to a YouTube comment. It seems real though.

Has anyone else watched the videos yet?

I can see now that you lack essential knowledge a human needs to live. What are you? A 14 year old kid who use to scam on RuneScape, but saw intelligent people on Something For All, so decided to post on here instead? When you know nothing, you shouldn't speak.

Have I ever told you that I was from America? No. That is because I am NOT from America, you simple minded person. :p

You're overlooking the fact that you may be wrong. Perhaps they WANT to risk four years searching for us. Maybe they live forever. Perhaps they DO have overly-advanced technology. You're typing on what you think you know, which obviously is nothing. You're quite oblivious to the fact that YOU ARE NOT THEM! You don't know how they may think, or what kind of technology they have. Stop speaking from the point of view of someone who knows them, because the honest truth is that you DON'T know them. Doing so only makes you look stupid. Alas, I am not worried about someone looking stupid. It's more important how stupid they are .. And you, my "friend", are not bright.

You think that it is impossible for there to be. However, it isn't. Your entire brain database is focused on logic and logic alone. A very harsh decision. When people talk to you, who's brain melts? Yours or theirs ?? What if they DID overlook evolution? I don't mean to make my post based around "What if", but the minds of people today are horrible ..

Honestly .. Also, I don't watch Star Wars, peasant.

Anything is possible. (Pointing back to logic)

Like, how you said that any faster is impossible? You don't know that .. You've only been told that by some ninth grade science teacher .. You're trying to make my post sound like a joke while only attempting to smart-up yours, but it's not working. For all anyone knows, aliens could be on their way to Earth as we type, ready to end a million year journey. You may not live forever, but you cannot be assured that they don't.

    Geez ..

    Apprenticeship.
I'm typing from the point of view of hideously overstating the capabilities of these aliens. The idea of even approaching the speed of light is laughable.

The rest of your arguments... dear God sir, you are an excellent troll. That is the only explanation. No-one seriously argues that one can live forever, or that faster-than-light travel is possible. As has probably already been pointed out, as you approach the speed of light, your mass increases, and relative time slows down.

See? You make excellent arguments, but your claims and accusations, or better yet, your contradictions to my post are coming from the mind of someone who has obviously been under a rock.

If no one argues about such things, then why am I arguing?
The impossible has already been make possible in the past .. You, Darby, need to be educated.

You know NOTHING. I know NOTHING. No One knowing ANYTHING. The only reason you think you know something is because someone gave you that information. NOTHING is completely true. You know why they call them hypothesis and theories? Alas, because they are not certain to be TRUE. It is as possible that "Aliens" can travel the speed of light, or faster, any more or less it is possible that you are alive at this very moment. You do not know, yet because you do not believe, you say it is impossible.

As I said before, your posting on LOGIC. What "may not be able to" happen. You have your opinions and I have mine. Honestly .. I'm not trying to persuade you .. I'm TRYING to inform you, and get informed.

You couldn't be honest and tell me that you know exactly what "Aliens" are doing, because you do not know. I do not know, and many other people do not know.

Also, can you keep the insulting to a minimum, like I said before?

Since when has another human being touched foot on mars, never, and probes aren't humans, its like getting footage of a security camera in rome, you haven't been to rome if you have watched it.

This is as real as it gets. Aliens were proven to be existent. You have to watch the whole series to understand.

    The Extraterrestrials: Alien

Its impossible by pure mathematics to accelerate to the speed of light. Interestingly, there is nothing in known physics to prevent the existence of something already traveling faster than light. Also, I've heard it postulated that if we somehow found a way to increase velocity of something without acceleration, we could get around the infinite energy problem. This would mean an object (or more likely a particle) instantly increasing velocity to above the speed of light, where less energy would actually increase its speed.

This is, of course, impossible with current knowledge. It's still fun to talk about, though.
The ultimate answer to these questions lies within Quantum physics, in my opinion. The very small has some interesting properties that we can not explain.

if you cannot see the galaxies, then therefore they do not exist. (haha, doesn't that sound like the all too-familiar saying that EVERYONE says when trying to disprove God)

anyways, no i dont believe in aliens. if you read this, it might explain a little.
    http://home.messiah.edu/~rcollins/FINETUNE/China fine-tuning paper revised for web.htm

If you've ever heard about the cosmological constant, or the fine-tuning argument, and actually researched it with an open mind, you may actually be interested.

OMG!! you-tube just proved the existence of aliens. I'm a believer now!

I can see the galaxies. I'm an amateur astronomer, and I have seen hundreds with my own eyes. Unfortunately, I lack the equipment to see the furthest-away ones. Others, however, do not, and have seen them.

I have heard of it. Sadly, that's where the anthropic principle comes into effect.
