CPU Cooler ( Lol )

Well some of you may have read my other topic about my PSU... so heres another good one for you. About an hour after I installed my new PSU, my cpu cooler died out on me I knew it was going to happen but I didn't know it was going to happen so soon. So I need to find a quiet cpu cooler...something around 15 dba and nothing on the pricy side.

edit: I can buy a peltier device from my local electronics store for $20, and can just run it from a constant voltage supply. Depending on the peltier you are looking at, some you can just run a single voltage through and not use any controller for it.

 

I have an Intel core 2 duo...i think the socket type is 775

 

I'll need to know for sure. What country do you live in?

 

I live in the US. I'm positive its 775.

hmm...60 dollars is a little over my budget. Around 30 dollars is reasonable for me.

Here you go, really good cooler for OVER CLOCKERS. The only thing is that its pretty big, but its a really good cooler for its price.

 

Why don't you buy some external fans? I didn't buy mine online, so I can't really find a link. I bought two external fans for 33$ (A bit over your budget, heh) and they work like a charm. Just place them in their "optimal" positions, and watch your temperature drop.

I don't really use the fans that often, just when it occasionally overheats.

Thanks Osmosis, I'll consider the arctic cooling one you suggested. I most likely will get that one since its cheap and gets the job done.

 

heh, I have a Artic Freezer 7, it keeps my system nice and cool and it's really quiet.

 

I ended up getting the Scythe Ninja Mini. It doesnt produce any noise as it has a fanless option.
