Computer randomly stopping?

Ok, well I was in the middle of somthing and my laptop just suddenly stopped, I couldn't ctrl alt delete, move my mouse or anything, so I manually shut it down, then again it happend.. So far it hasnt happend again..

Stopped once,

Stopped Third,

Stopped fourth,

Stopped Fifth

Stopped Sixth,

Stopped seventh,

Every time I start my computer it comes up with 'Found new hardware' called 'network controller' I think someone is controllin' my computer (

Does anyone know what's going on?

You obviously have a virus.

The process of stopping is slightly different between laptop and desktop, but enough to tell what's happening. Get a better firewall and possibly Norton antivirus .. Take them off and activate your firewall ..

That's most likely the reason it's stopping .. :]

 

Overheating or you got a virus....

Or Virus scan.

 

Pull out internet cable/wireless adapter. see if it doesn't stop, if it does, well either it's a bot that's fucking up your laptop or just a error in Windows.

 

Since when does a computer STOP when overheating? it SHUTS DOWN when overheating, and he clearly said his computer STOPPED and had to MANUALLY shut it down.

 

lol. if your gpu overheats the screen will freeze.

 

If you have a virus, download Kaspersky Internet Security 7. That would fix that. If you're problem persists, consider rolling back you're computer to before the problem.

 

lets narrow it down a bit before we all go jumping to conclusions.

How much RAM do you have?
What are you doing when it freezes?
Has something been recently installed on your computer?

The network controller is probable your NIC card did someone recently install one?

Guess so. Me and my brother share the laptop, he showed me what he downloaded, it was a 9.6KB file with hardly anything in it...So yes I guess it is a trojan. Obviously not a keylogger cos' all my passwords are fine, for the moment

Try these in this order.

1. I would try uninstalling any applications you installed in the last week. Or use system restore. If that dosent work.
2. It could be overheating. Make sure all your fans are working. Take out your CPU blow it off and put it back in.
3. Run system file checker and checkdisk

It could be a virus because all computer problems can be explained with a virus.

I honestly don't think its a virus though people just rely on that when they don't know the real solution.

 

Ok, How do I do a system restore?

 

Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

 

Ok, system restored back to a week ago, It's still telling me to install 'network controller' Which IS NOT a new hardware, the only network peice i have is my ineternet card

 

Well if you don't know what there asking you about then your probable don't need it.

right click my computer, manage, device manager, find the device it should have a red X by it, right click and press uninstall.

 

Done, restarted pc, came back ..I really don't want to reformat..but its probly the only thing i can do?

The freezing and the Network controller, btw my internet wireless card is currently dying from this :/n i have no internet on my laptop atm
