    The Extraterrestrials: Alien

Question(s): How many here at Sythe believe in what is further than the grounds of the tiny ball of gas and dust we call Earth?

Do people still believe that Aliens are out there, somewhere? Perhaps, bidding their time? Or better yet, too scared to show themselves?

Or, do some of you think that there are no aliens, and that in the trillions and trillions of miles that make up the universe, 20,000 or so miles is the ONLY place where life resides?

My opinion: I believe in the statement, "We are not alone". For the sole fact that we cannot be the only people in this universe, those in positions superior to ours is hiding the fact that alien communication is aboard, and for the simple reason that my mind has given me some conclusion as to believe in extraterrestrials.

    What do you all think?

    Discuss.

I think it's virtually certain that other forms of life exist in the universe. There are some 100 billion stars in the Milky Way, and some 100 billion other galaxies out there. We are one planet, around one star.

I also believe that there are extraterrestrials in this universe because our galaxy and system presiding within it were created by chance, coinciding events. So i find it more than possible that with all of the existing space and other possiblities of different coinciding events happeneing that the similar conditions occured, or different events occured which also resulted in a different form of life. Because there are other possible elements which life can build around, other than our carbon-based existences.

Yea, there are many other planets revolving around stars so I really don't see why not.

For all we know, there are no other sentient alien races, it would be a bit ignorant to say since we haven't been to any other planets as of now. I'm more than certain there are other primal, nomadic races on other planets that live by instinct. With no aspirations other than living, eating and reproducing. Their may be sentient races out there, but we just may be the top of the top. Hopefully sooner or later we will find another sentient race in which we trade out technologies with and other such information. Maybe they will be able to put a cap on this religion BS.

Actually, Annex, humans have been to other planets! Mars! :]

But that's not the topic. Besides, there was nothing found but a few ditches and rocks .. As you said, however, we may be the top of the top as far as civilization, but if you were on another planet that wasn't Earth and your species was trying to study up on other planets and galaxies to see if there were any others in the universe, wouldn't you STILL believe in the possibility that you were the top of the top?

Out of the millions and billions of planets and galaxies, I, like many others here, find it extremely hard to believe that we are alone ..

Anyone else want to share their beliefs on the subject?

We are mere simple Humans,Our technology is not advanced enough to confirm whether or not there are Aliens or other lifeforms out there.

But to be honest, I'm pretty sure theres going to be Other lifeforms out there.
The world is so big, What are the chances the other Lifeforms Are out there.

    C o W e R d is right, Louder.

Though it may not matter to as which phrase is used, it still holds some significance.

World; referring to planet Earth; Noun
Universe; referring to vast amounts of dark matter that surround all life; past all five(four?) layers of Earth; Space; Noun

Big difference. Plus, government officials have held communication with other-worldly beings(Aliens). Your statement is as follows, false.

there must be. if life can form around 1 star on 1 planet in 1 universe and theres billions of universes out there so it must be possible for other forms of life to exist. maybe not in this galaxy but in others im certain of it

Well there are at least 70 sextillion stars in the visable universe i think its kinda stupid to think that only the earth would contain life.
So yeah i believe that there is extraterrestrial life around us.

    You mean galaxys?

Like what? I'm not a huge science whiz, but I know carbon is the only element
which can string together long enough to create life. There could be many more elements out there, I agree. But out of all of them that we've found or created, carbons unique.

As for whether or not life is out there, I wouldn't be surprised if we had life IN our solar system. It's all so varying, who knows.

I've seen no reliable proof of that, and, assuming we follow the argument that the chances are that there is life, due to the massive number of galaxies and systems, that one will support it, then the chances are also that the aliens are so far away that they could never reach us.

shit ur right. but u all get my point that i tried to make. its impossible for there not be another form of life. most of u think that aliens r more intelligent then humans when that word comes up. but whats to say that they r less intelligent?

It most certainly is not impossible. It is highly improbable that there are no extraterrestrials being further than Earth, but impossible, no. Still, I agree with you. Out of the infinite amounts and miles of space, could we be the only ones here? No. Whether they are more or less intelligent, we could never know. However, would it matter? If they were less intelligent, humans would probably try to kill them .. And if they were more intelligent than us, humans would be afraid of them. It all depends on how you look at it ..

No, reliable proof, but to the person who believes only what he sees, the truth is quite limited. No, not quite. Yes, assuming to take into consideration the large number of galaxies and systems, your point of view resides solely in the farthest galaxy in the farthest system, I see now. What if aliens were in a galaxy in between the farthest galaxy and humans? Wouldn't that, not prove, but shed light on the opinion that aliens may not be as far as some think? I surely think so ..

If they could reach us. They could probably just change there looks so they would look just like us so they can run around without us knowing that they are here. But i don't really think that a way more intelligent life form would like to talk with us...They have nothing to gain. Everything we say might sound stupid to them.
