Juno = Overrated

I don't see why this movie got so much attention. It's really not that great in my opinion. I went and saw it... All I could think about was how they were trying to use every slang term imaginable to make her seem all cool and original. They completely made her out to be the stereotypical artsy, original, quirky girl who has a problem and finds love over the course of a big wacky adventure. Shes one of those girls who doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. She has weird and abstract posters on her walls. She plays an instrument. I didn't think this movie was horrible, I just thought they completely overkilled the whole "I'm a rebel teenager" thing. And is it just me, or did all the songs sound the EXACT same in this movie? I'VE GOT AN IDEA, lets play 3 chords on an acoustic guitar and have really weird lyrics that are sang softly by the same people throughout the entire movie!

 

i loved the movie

although mothers were mad because the movie showed how life isnt really like that if you get pregenant at that age.

I thought it was pretty good

I could relate to the anti-social ways of the main character and I really loved the character progression

 

This is why I can't watch commercial movies anymore, they just don't phase me. I do this horrible thing where I actually try and make an effort to pick out what is realistic, and what isn't. What would happen in real life, and what wouldn't. I'm also just focused on how well the acting is in movies, not on the plot. This is why I absolutely hated superbad. Some of the jokes were cute, however I could not appreciate the movie because of how unrealistic it was. There's no way somebody thinks of (funny) lines that fast, and that bugged the hell out of me.

 

maybe you need to relax

movies are for entertainment.

If you want something super real and informative on actual behavior, try watching a documentary.

I heard it was crap, just had good media coverage.

 

You'd appreciate these movies more if you brought a friend along and you could just make sarcastic comments to each other for the entire duration of the film about how bad it is.

Or you could watch some trailers, do some research or ask people about the film being good before you see it.

If you thought you were going into Juno to see an original plot and characters then you don't know much about movies :s

Juno was an independent movie.

Juno was one of the best movies of the year, and did a phenomenal job capturing a very artistic approach to a real life issue without turning it into a melodramatic hollywood film. The music in the movie is very suiting, and there is a reason it is nominated for best picture.

 

yea, def. overrated, it wasn't that funny either. i guess if ppls didn't made such a big deal about it, i would've thought it was an ok movie. o well.

 

Our class is going to go see it today, I've never heard of it before that, but it might be pretty descent. Seeing as a lot of people are saying it's a good movie.

 

i wanna c Jumper, with hayden christiansen, it looks like a good movie.
