It's probably just illegal because the government wants to ban things that are bad to the body. While this makes some sense it is still lame to punish people over drug use because whether they take drugs or not is up to them.

ok to all of you people who say that pot makes you stupid:

it is more likely that people who care less about school and are willing to do illegal things like smoke pot, not the other way around. i know many fucked up people who were fucked up before starting pot, so they stayed the same after smoking, and i know many smart people who started smoking pot and were still smart after they smoked.

it is just like that shit about how violent video games make kids violent, it is more likely that violent people just like to play violent video games. the flaw in your arguments is that correlation does not prove causation.

 

When i was growing my plants i was more addicted to growing them then the pot itself anyway thats great way to spend time .

No it was illegal for ONE SIMPLE REASON.

Its a black person drug. Back during the days of segregation, blacks used marijuana and whites smoked cigerettes. The laws for marijuana were developed around the Jim Crow laws(maybe er.. yea). It is NOT cause its profitable or not, its for that reason that it is illegal. Why would they make it legal? Its only harmful. They cannot make cigerettes illegal cause that would be too drastic.

 

couple things im seeing every1 say that is quite wrong:

a lot of u have a misconception about drug dealers u act like drug dealers have to sell drugs... they dont...they do it for the money. u keep saying o if weed is legal drug dealers r guna start selling diff drugs.... i agree their will b no more weed sellers but they aint gonna move to diff drugs, theyll prolly just get a job like every1 else. u act like every weed dealer has a connect for cheap coke in bulk well they dont... and they woudn't even know who to sell it to. I keep hearing things like if weed is legalized weed sellers will start trafficking harder drugs...wtf its not like they go to college for 4 years to sell... its not a profession rofl.

1 of the main reasons its not legalized is cuz its grows naturally therefore it would unconstitional to put the normal 6% gov tax on it( going by america standards) so theres really nothing to gain from the gov legalizing weed. also think about how much protest and complaints there would from middle age parents...way too many ppl are against it( look at this thread for example theres alrdy ppl here like z0mg weed turns people into morons.) To give example: if the gov legalized weed, the number of complainers quitters protesters would b like jagex removing RWT X 293834823949383.

Also i keep hearing the generalization that if weed is legalized, weed smokers will simply move on to coke and herion...this definitly aint true, of course ull have couple hardasses aiming to break the law but ppl that smoke buds aint gonna go grab an 8 ball just cuz weed is legal

Well, I' don't know about you, but i have experience with my friend's brother and my brother's friend (haha..). Both of them took weed and not only got in serious shit but their personalities changed so much and they are now complete dumbasses. From what I've seen, marijuana is terribly bad for you... Either way, I'm never going to take drugs because i care about my life, whether it's been proven or not.

 

Correlation does not prove causation, those two people could of turned into dumbasses for many other reasons. Your argument flaw from Carl Sagan's baloney detector is Statistics of Small Numbers. You are basically making generalizations from an extremely small sample.

 

Well, I haven't had much experience with it... so whatever people want to do is fine with me, I just have my own morals.

 

Cool with me. Weed is just like going out for dinner or other simple pleasures, its really not as bad as people think it is. Its just like how people who aren't incredibly intelligent spend tons of money on rims and drive nice cars, doesn't mean that having a nice car makes you dumb. And not incredibly intelligent people just like to smoke weed, doesn't mean that smoking weed doesn't make you stupid.

Smart kid, But your right pot is practicley legal some places, Like me I like on vancouver Island, B.C You can walk down the raod and smoke joints here Cops don't really bother with it enless it's a big ammount. I think it's legal to have a joint on you aswell And they can only take away a 8th or less u can't be charged
