Yeah but at the same time you could be losing out on a girl you could be with for a long time just because your friend is too protective. You should still make sure he is okay with it but he can't be protective of her forever.

Im guessing your not that old and like I said you probly just want nothing more then to get with her so then you should not get involved because if you piss her off you piss him off.
