Where to buy cryptocurrency?

Hey guys, need some advice from some of you pro’s out there. Looking to invest into some alternative currencies out there. In the past I’ve used coinbase to buy btc, but they don’t offer many of the other currencies. What sites do you recommend on using for buy/selling?

I tried making a profile on Poloniex, but they are requiring me to provide my ssn even to deposit btc on the site. Should I be concerned providing this to them? Any similar sites that I can bypass this?

First of all,
Poloniex uses USDT, so you will have to buy cryptocurrencies (USDT/BTC/LTC/ETH...) from elsewhere to use it.
And no, you shouldn't be worried verifying yourself on reputable exchanges. (Unless you're a wanted criminal or something haha).
TBH used fake credentials to start trading on Poloniex and it is working fine, but this was last year so idk if they changed policies.

You can buy crypto with fiat from websites such as localbitcoins, coinbase, kraken.
