Computer Reccomendations

Well, 8th grade graduation isn't too far away and i talked to my parents about getting a computer, they said as long as it wasn't too expensive i could get a new one. I know you nerds at sythe know all about this stuff so i need some good ideas.

If you can build the computer its a whole different story, but if you cant just go to the dell refurbished site. Consider that refurbish can mean many things. My brother bought his computer worth 800 for 500, and it was great had wifi, and everything. If you can build your own, reply back.

 

$700 maximum pretty much cuts you out of the custom built systems market.

 

Building a nice custom pc for me would cost anywhere from 800-1400 probally :S but if you want under 700 you should just try ebay or refurbished sites.

You just have to find deals on parts.

put it together yourself.
if you arent litterate enough, desktops from tigerdirect are also good..
but you can get about 2x better machine by putting it together yourself

Its called walmart lol, thats where my parents are buying (most likely) my next computer from, there half decent actually.

 

If you buy an alienware you are paying $200 for the name alone. While they are good, you can get a much better one for the same price or cheaper.

I suggest building a computer. Thats what I'm going to do for my next computer.

You can build your own that will play every game on the market for that price but not all on max settings or anything and will be made of cheaper components.

If you want me to though I can pick out all the parts for you and keep it under that ammount. (your order online) Ive never built a computer but I can also find you a guide that will make it easy for you or your dad to put it together.

 

A lot more then $200. See when you look at the site it gives you the price right there, but as soon as you customize it, even sticking with the cheapest specs, that price that you saw goes up A LOT. Alienware is a huge rip off. Each piece of hardware they charge $50-$100 more then its worth.

 

Get an ex government computer, its your best bet. Reformat it like hell and Install a better processsor and more RAM.
