My day in court..nerve wrecking

Ok, so about 2 weeks ago i got pulled over. The cop comes up to the car, and yells at me ARE YOU DRUNK?! I patiently responded, no sir. He asked me why i thought i had been pulled over, and i told him that i had no idea, my speed was below the speed limit (was going 30 in a 35, since it was raining/snowing).

So after a whole mess of things, i end up getting a ticket for not having my license on me. I was crying the whole time (yes im a guy, but i was scared out of my fucking mind, since i just got my license a month ago)


So I journeyed to the court house today, for my hearing. So the judge is going over the evidence, etc. and asks me why i was pulled over. I told him that i did not have my lights on all the way. And the ticket did not say that. And then he asked why i got a ticket, and i responded with I did not have my license on me.

So after 5 minutes of him looking in his book, he told me to come back up to the podium, and started talking to me.

He told me that the insurance on my truck (its my dads truck) did not have insurance on it. He told me that because i told the truth about getting pulled over, then the case was dismissed.


I STARTED TO CRY!

finally, it was over, and i get to keep my license.

well, until about 30 minutes ago i was nervous, but im all better now

 

so did you ever find out why you got pulled over?

 

He said he got pulled over because he didn't have his lights on.

i always get nervous when cops walk up to me

 

lol i was thinking about when he asked if i was drunk responding and going "sorry sir im kinda out of it"

but yeah, decided not to so i couldnt get in more trouble

 

You are so lucky. That judge could have fucked you royally. Driving without a liscence i believe is 6 months with a suspended liscence?

 

Well its either 6 months or till your seventeen. Whichever is first

and yes i know, but he saw that it was my dads fault that there was no insurance on the vehicle so he dismissed it

so yeah, my license is always going behind my ass now

anyways, yeah everytime i go out of the house my dad goes "dont forget your lights"

but it was my dads truck, so i turned the lights on but it was only on parking lights :S

so yeah.

 

Keep a close eye our for cops now. Have your dad put insurance on the car. And try not to forget your license from now on. You should be set then, .

 

I don't get nervous when talking to people of power, I just talk respectively, and if I'm accused I throw the law back at them where they're wrong Gosh I love logic.
