Anyone know why this happened?

I came across this vid not too long ago about this massive bot glitch, does anyone know what would have caused the bots to do this?

There's only 2-3 HUGE bot farms on RuneScape. They aren't kids using common botting software and scripts. These guys run 300+ accounts at once. The easiest way to move items off their accounts quickly is to just accept any trades, scan username and trade over the goods. Probably what happened is the username scanner was bugged (could be something Jagex changed) and it allowed anyone to trade them and get what they had. I'd bet my life every account this guy traded was part of the same farm running the same software.

Wish this happened to green drag bots.

 

My thought is the bots had a certain amount of gp that you had to trade them and they would give you the botted items, or its just a massive random glitch I have no idea about.

Its just a small glitch in their scripts probably, they will have it fixed and only lose 1 days work tbh, if they are running a farm they probably didn't lose much in that one day people found out about it.

 

Jagex probably updated something within the game client, and whenever the accounts logged in the script probably broke and boom, this happened. More than likely though like the above said, it was probably scanning a username, which it broke and it caused it to just accept no matter what. Although I don't see why this would happened, you can literally load .txt files or even excel files to load several mule accounts and trade over the wealth. Versus, you know. Random usernames / scanner.

 

I was in lumby when this happened, so many bots just standing there. No idea why

 

lmao that was crazy people gonna be trading tons of lvl 3s in lumby hoping to get a hit.

 

I’d love to know how the owner of these bots is running all of these without getting caught or getting banned
