Right? Depends, I mean, if two people want to have sex,you can't say much. Alot of people around my area are really premiscious and the just think sex is really another fun thing to do on the weekend or whatever. With that attitude, then yeah I think its wrong. Hello I everyone I am new here and this is an odd place to start but..

First of all, this is supposed to be for 'intelligent' discussion. Which makes half the posts invalid. But for those who posted well thought out ideas.. I lost my virginity at 13. My (now ex)girlfriend and I had been together for only 4 months before we started to experiment sexually. We never looked back. We were together for almost 2 and a half years. Most of which was total hell and I am not proud of. But the only thing keeping us together.. was the constant fucking. It's hard for me to admit, but seeing as this is an anonymous online message board I'll let you strangers know. It changed from something great and new to something we craved all the time and needed. 'Love' had less to do with it than anyone else, I never "bragged to my buddies" not once. When we finally broke up we had only had sex once in maybe 4 months.. that time felt sickening. I felt horrible. I didn't even like her it was just a sad attempt to breath life into our tired relationship. So we finally broke up.

My advice to anyone is that being in a relationship just for sex may be great fun. But you should be responsible and don't get caught in a fantasy that this will be how it is for the rest of your life. I guess it was good getting out all my fantasys and experiments while I was young. I am now with an amazing girl and we have been together for a year going very strong. For us sex is something that physically and emotionally brings us together in a way nothing else can. We don't crave it, and it isn't something we need to get through the week. We can go a month without it, weeks, I bet we could survive a year without it. Sex is fun, love is a necessity.

Moral of my stories, I could have still been fucking my ex on a daily basis. But I would be nothing but a sad, sick, horny fool.

Sex is the only reason relationships happen. We like to think of ouselves, humans, being one step above that but really when we are in "love" we are just thinking about sex even though we don't realise it.

Well, there are age of consent laws depending on where you live in the United States. Not sure about other countries. Where I live, it is legal for someone who is under 24 years of age to have sex with a member of the opposite sex as long as they consent and are at least 16. Also, it is illegal for homosexual people to have sex under the age of 18 lol. At least from what I can determine from stated law.

 

Only Females are legal at 16.

The moment we wake up on our 16th, 18th, 21st or any of our birthdays, we do not become instantly more mature physically nor emotionally.

It is well understood that no-one is the same.
Someone could be physically and emotionally ready at 14 years of age.
In contrast, someone may not be ready until they are 25 years of age.

Sex is a very emotionally taxing thing.
Some people [ myself included ], get quite attached to the person you have been having sexual intercourse with.
If one partner decides they no longer want to engage in sexual intercourse, it can cause confusion, anxiety and other emotional / mental instabilities in the other half of the relationship.
If someone is not mature enough to handle this, it could lead to serious problems.

The law makers had to make a hard decision.
I'm guessing they would of taken the average age of maturity and used them as guidelines for setting the laws.
I do however feel that they stuffed up with our laws in Australia.
From what ive seen, females defiantly do not mature mentally / emotionally before males.

 

Well as long as both couples agree with it, then I think its fine for any age.
It is their body isnt it? The law shouldn't be able to control what people do with their bodies.

 

Personally, I think that if people have the ability to reproduce, then they should be allowed to. You don't see the government telling dogs "No sex! You're only 3 years old!"

 

1 partner for life is bullshit, sex is one of the biggest parts of compatibility. I feel sex is made to be such a big deal and even though there is a lot of dangers with sex there also comes responsibility and is a huge part of growing up. Proper education by parents and/or schools is what is needed but also it mainly depends when someone is biologically and mentally ready to handle it. Here in Australia I think the legal age 16 was perfect even though now it is dropped to 14 for females which is kind of early I think.

 

What are you going to do when we overproduce a bit too much eh? Nothing i can say right.... Well exactly my point, the current population of this world is 8.6 billion people. Imagine there were no laws to protect people from ignorance and past mistakes?? Also but not least aren't even capable of supporting them selves and yet their children..... I mean it's just too much at risk.. If this laws were to be subdued the population of this world would outgrow the rate of our supplies and food, if it weren't in place we would probably be populated at a good 30-50 billion people... yeh thats a good fivefold to tenfold of people there. Well anyways this are only my perspectives of the law in place...
