Ben Skarsgård killed it.
The facial expressions were amazing, but outside of that, his voice acting skills, man.
There were some scenes that the editing seemed a little meh; but that comes with the territory. If you watched the original It, you know that this is synonymous with the 1990 movie.
The mix between suspense & humor was really awesome. You have the spooky story line of the original + the new age humor from the main protagonists.
Overall, very enjoyable movie.

 

I'm always a fan of gory movies so I was pleasantly surprised with this film.

Brief review/thoughts: Such an annoying movie holy shit. Every stupid kid in the movie loved splitting up n going towards the spooky shit like wtf, if u was in a terrorist attack you wouldn't run towards the terrorist would u???

Finished it yesterday. Forgot to post lol. IT was alright. The older one was waaaay better but this one was pretty decent. Movie felt a lot like Nightmare on elm street and I'm sure stephen king wanted that.

 

I like the originals, don't get me wrong, they are classic's for a reason, but watching them in this day & age - they feel really antiquated.
I mean, I'm not really a "graphics" whore, as I still play OSRS, but the old it's just seem extremely cheesy now when I rewatch them, their animations are just no good.

 

True. I feel like it made the older films better though. For the newer one I feel like they tried really hard to make it scary however it wasn't scary at all. More like a thriller and a comedy.

But as you stated, thriller comedy, which I quite enjoy.

 

I enjoyed the movie tbh. Those 2 kids shooting shade at each other all movie was comical (fat kid and broken armed kid)

 

The kids played such a badass role.
Really love the comedy that was added in.

 

For sure it made it stand out a bit from the original, which is where I see a ton of reboots fail.

 

To be totally honest, I felt like this movie smoked the original, believe it or not. Ha

Went to the cinemas when this came out with my girlfriend and was expecting it to be trash since I loved the original as a child, though I still don't think it matches the original or beats but it certainly was a well done film and the acting was on point from both Ben and the children in it. Walked out pretty impressed and definitely can't wait to see the second one when it drops.
