Why do people think its "cool" to go to jail or get in trouble?

Why do people brag about being in jail or getting in trouble? Shouldn't you be embarrassed? If you've been to jail or got in trouble, it means you fucked up and got caught. So why should you brag about it?

I'm not saying I haven't gotten in trouble with the law, but I don't go gloating about it. It's really quite funny to see people with the thought that "I've been to jail, I'm a bad ass!"

No. It means you messed up. Does it make you less of a person? No, everybody breaks the law. Just don't brag about it.

Because people think its cool, because its rebelious and its conforming.

Maybe their just trying to show who they really are at some points. Like most people in my school during Spanish class act up a lot in front of the teacher but then they get mad and are quite sad...that they got suspended for no reason..

 

They think if they are like:

"Yeah, I went to jail."

They seem badass or something, when in reality, they are just pathetic losers.

i got pulled over because i didnt have my headlights on...and i would go around joking with my friends.

I only partially agree. Everyone messes up sometimes so I don't find it fair to say that everyone who goes to jail or gets in big trouble is a "pathetic loser". However, those that find it's something important enough to brag about are seriously delusional and don't even deserve to be released.

 

Well, some people feel that going to jail is a right of passage. As getting a drivers licence is to most teenagers, as is going to jail for others.

 

But then again. Some police around area's like mine .. Would stop and search you for no reason... Just to waste your time.. So its not all the time the .. kids/teens thought when they are stopped for no reason and searched and then it all kicks off once the teen.. says OMFG your wasteing my time... then there like ... ok your nicked.. -.-... -.-..

 

cause they just can't admit to the world that the most special night of their life was when they got thrown in the same cell as Bubber the goat molester?

I don't think it's cool at all. I really don't care if my friend would told me that he/she has gone to Jail

And for those people who brags about it are plain immature.

 

I think it has to do with the persons age. Lots of Teenagers think its so cool to break the law and everything, but a lot of adults that go to jail regret what they did and try not to let anyone know about their mistake.

Just a bunch of immature kids trying to fit in some how...

i can see getting pulled over..like when i got pulled over i was joking with my friends.

but yeah..going to jail is a different story:S

Its cool b/c its defying the law. Plain and simple.

 

Since when is that cool? It's a lifestyle some people choose to live. This is not about that, its about going to jail.

Breaking the law and bragging about going to jail are too TOTALLY different things.

 

Its good to know if someone has, but it is nothing to be proud of...
