F$#ked up comp n how to fix?

ok i have 2 comps. a laptop with broken screen (useing a monitor) and a desktop (serverly messed up)

my desktop is really messed up bro downloaded alot of crap and boom junk. is there a way i can just completely reset the comp? its ok if i lose all memory.
i cant get internet on it atm. any help??

 

sure reinstall the OS there should be a CD that came with the computer.

that would just install over the OS
to completely reset it, ehh..
easy way, get an external hd closure, hook it up to another computer and select "format" on the my computer menu
if you dont have an hd enclosure, get your comp to reset into DOS mode, or command prompt, w/e -- i dont know if this will work with vista
but once you get there just type in "Format C:"
and DONT do this in command prompt while windows is still running, it will start deleting the windows files and it will lock up with half of windows still on there.
after that just re-install your OS

 

reinstalling from the cd wipes it out..no clue what ur talking about.
afterwards you dont have the files you use to, unless you only did a repair install.

(delete partitions while booted from cd, create new partition, start re-install) - thats how i do it, unless repairing.

 

Sometimes I wonder...

That would just install over the current OS (or current VS (Virus System)).

Reformating is reinstalling the os , Just make sure you select the right options.

Otherwise you can mess up badly.
