My IRC Project

EDIT: This project is almost complete and is now in testing mode, if anyone wants to test it with me add my msn, [email protected] and i'll send you the web address

I'm undergoing a little IRC project now. I have been doing this project for the last couple of years on and off and have decided to go back to it. Basically it is to have a IRC based chatroom like the old msn style ones. In other words to be able to connect to the chatroom via either internet explorer, firefox or the normal irc method such as mIRC. If anyone wants to join the project give me a shout, i could do with an extra pair of hands, here is a picture of my progress so far, i am now working on the admin interface for the chat and the ability to ban people etc.

Yeah that's right www.chat.msn.com used to look like that but they shut down in 2003 or 2004

 

You might get into trouble for using the MSN logo...

Are you using Ajax/PHP?

 

There has been many cases of this but msn have now made the chat control used to run such a thing like this public and can be used by anyone as it only connects to the server

No its not ajax/php. the server uses unrealircd mainly and the web client uses activex controls with ocx

yeah, it is teh best. just finished the room bots today with all their functions. it is practically done now. ill post some more pictures later

I would say any webbrowser could connect.

well at the moment it only works with internet explorer and via a irc client. however i am currently working on making it compatible for firefox etc
