Did I make the right choice?

Long story short,
I use to be heavily involved in drugs and was attacked by a gang over something I had nothing to do with....

I assaulted one guy, no regrets,

3 years later I saw one and asked him to fight me 1 on 1 (it was only me and him) he declined,
my thinking was to approach it like a man and ask him to fight me straight up, but he refused, I kind of regret not just hitting him...

Did I make the right choice?

Keep the lawas aside from it Metabee, if this "other guy" is involved in drug trading etc. he would just turn himself in and look weak infront of others.

You took the right way to do it, as reveng would only lead to only darker/deeper ways which you probably can't leave easily.

If they take it correctly, they will go back and focus on making money instead of attracting problems.

 

Of course you made the right choice. It was 3 years later and fighting is for kids. Move on.

When you fight there is quite a few things that happen after the fight

1 - You end up both in custody and something will be put on your criminal record
2 - Both of you fight, it ends and you'll always be catious about that day and always checking stuff to check no one snitched or something along those lines.
3 - You beat him up and feel guilty cause something in his life is happening right now and you could've made the situation more worse for hi

You did make the right choice, if you want to persist in life you always want to maintain a high IQ or do it illegaly but always be knowning that you have ruined someones life to boost yours.

 

Fighting resolves nothing man. Even if you "win", do you really?

Fighting proves nothing. Hopefully the reason he didn't want to fight is cause he grew up and is out of that lifestyle.

And like these guys said why risk getting that stuff put on your record? Any decent and most jobs one applies for check that stuff and it doesn't look good. So yes you definitely made the right choice. Maybe it woulda felt good to get "revenge" but it solved and proves nothing.

You made the right choice, just by him saying no, it shows you're more of an alpha than he is. Good on you. In my opinion if they say no, don't fight them/hit them, you already won. I personally would have thrown a saying like "Why, can't hold your own, need a group?" or something like that, but that's just asking for a problem, good on you.
