Definitely worth investing - Waiting until it drops again as I believe the next time it rises it will not face resistance and shoot up.

    The 2nd biggest Crypto-currency.

I'm sure Boxmining doesn't talk about it because he's too busy getting referrals for the ponzi Genesis mining ;)

If you didn't get my joke it is that Ethereum is not a cryptocurrency. It's kind of odd that you buy "Ethereum" on an exchange like coinbase, but in reality you are actually buying "Ether"... Why not put "Ether".. Like seriously I'm not buying a part of the Ethereum Platform am I? No, I'm buying a token issued which is called "Ether" so label it as such like huh?

It's funny how it's "the second biggest crypto currency" yet half the world doesn't understand what they are actually buying

what? "Ethereum" is technically not a crypto currency
Ether is the token, Ethereum is the platform
    Am i wrong here?

I understand everyone says "I bought some ethereum" but arent they really buying Ether?

    There's a difference with Ethereum and Ripple/XRP.

All banks and partners using Ripple, are using ONLY RIPPLE, not XRP (the coin you all are buying). Ripple technology is completely different than XRP that you buy anywhere, and it has no relation whatsoever.

That said, I'm not knowledgeable enough in XRP to go further into detail about it,

HOWEVER: When it comes to Ethereum, majority of the companies in the Ethereum alliance also aren't using the main-chain of Ethereum, a lot of them have private blockchains as they control it completely, the block times, etc. but it still uses Ethereum technology. So this in my opinion is in a similar matter of Ripple, but it extends far beyond that:

    1. All the companies that are in the alliance (JP Morgan, Cisco, Intel, Microsoft, Etc.) are working together to build the best eco-system for Ethereum entirely, meaning they're researching stuff on top of Eth developers and will contribute their findings, etc. to the Ethereum team, and much more. There are multiple EEA meetings a year where the ETH team meets with the top companies as listed, and a lot more can be read on google about EEA.

    2. There are thousands of developers building dApps (decentralized apps) that use the OFFICIAL main-net of Ethereum. Not only that, but they're continuously building on the Ethereum eco-system, not just the founding team but the hundreds/thousands of developers. (See: Raiden Network, or Sharding in ETH).

Also I did get a PM regarding if Ethereum and Ether are 2 different tokens.

    The answer is no.

Ripple is the technology behind XRP, and the technology is what the banks are using. XRP the token uses Ripple technology but is not being used by the banks/partners.

Ethereum is a token that basically powers Ethereum the technology.

    ____

I'm rather high so if this was discombobulated/confusing I'll edit it later and fix it up.
