Emo

Wondering if anyone here is into emotive hardcore, i am looking for some recommendation's.

Some bands that come to my mind right now are Funeral Diner, Orchid, Pg.99, Moss Icon, 1905, Daitro, City Of Caterpillar etc.

I've been listening to the Funeral Diner/Ampere Split LP alot recently and i can't find anything to compare it too, if anyone knows of a band that can they can compare to this release, let me know!


ps, when i talk about emo, im not referring to 14yearold pop/rock like fall out boy, MCR, whatever is on MTV, im looking for real fans.

Yeh EMO is a subgenre of Hardcore punk.
Alot of people think that Hardcore is EMO which is not true.

 

Bro I dont see how you can stand emo music period any type of it. i have yet to hear any emo band (of any type) have a good song that someone that hasnt been playing that insturment for a month could do. its pathetic, and yes parkway drive is emo, screamo in fact. dont know how you consider them hardcore.

 

You've obviously never heard real emo than, because it takes a great amount of skill to play.

listen to funeral diners "the underdark" , the drumming is ridiculous and amazing. Just the structure of a song is more complex than a lot of music in general.

You seriously need to give funeral diner or yaphet kotto a listen if you truly think that these musicians have no skill, because this just shows that you have not heard it yet.

 

I listen to the complete opposite of emo. The happiest music ever, ska. I'm a rudeboy.

 

Theyre actually metalcore, and they play their instruments to a far higher standard than any of the "rock" bands or whatever you hear on MTV. Having screaming doesnt make them "emos"... If bands like Parkway Drive and IKTPQ arnt hardcore then what is?

 

I enjoy some ska, The resignators, shake up, and more crossover mainstream stuff like goldfinger and nofx, but i can't get into it further than that.

Parkway Drive is metalcore, but definitely not the best of its genre.

I find the costumes kind of... over the top?

Its a shame I have such an open mind, otherwise I would utterly HATE your music.
Its only because I have never actually listened to a whole song that I force myself not to pass judgment on the genre and accept the fact that yes, it takes a far amount of skill to play those sorts of songs and I respect anyone and everyone who can do it.
And knowing that complex instrument use is what some people like, I respect their decision in music.

In fact, Im gonna consider posting about the trend, unless you want to do it yourself?

 

Old Goldfinger stuff is pretty good. I am obsessed with one song at the moment (by Goldfinger). It's called Superman, you probably have heard of it.



I'm mostly into Streetlight Manifesto though. Streetlight Manifesto, Reel ********, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Planet Smashers (<3 Surfin' in Tofino), MU330, The Aquabats, Etc...

umm bud , epic fail, i have been playing drums for approx 4 years now and i totally dominated them (and i hate drums so i hardly ever practice)

are you a moron? i already told you what they are , there screamo, and bud, the music i listen to makes garbage like that look like it was droped to its knee's several times a day. when you find some bands even half as talented as children of bodom, arch enemy , dragonforce, the dillinger escape plan, metallica, or anthrax, then come back and run your mouth about how skilled your beloved emo garbage is. you = epic fail.

2. Your so stupid and arrogant, i can almost guarantee you can't play one song by funeral diner, or any real emo band for that matter. I play drums myself, and i can honestly say that emo is one of the hardest genres to play, because the genre itself is just another word for emotive music, no basic beats, no verse or chorus, 5-10 minutes of complex and different rythym, and if your saying that you can outdrum the guy from yaphet kotto, you need to get the fuck out.
