Death Metal, Or Black Metal?

Okay,

I was wondering; who here likes death metal over black metal, or vice versa? I personally like death metal, but i do enjoy black metal as well. I like bands like Suffocation and Beheaded, yet i do enjoy some good Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir

Eh, Macabre isn't that bad.

 

Death Metal > Black Metal imo. But I like both.

 

Black Metal < Death Metal

Like both but black metal just wins over for me =p

 

Whats the difference? I like Rock and Metal, but no Death Metal, Dark Metal, Black Metal, whatever you wanna call it...

Definately Death Metal. Black Metal isn't as technical or interesting. I am not a big fan of the modern Melodic Death Metal bands though, most of them are becoming Metalcore which is gay.
Death, Pestilence, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Aborted (<3), Possessed, Dissection, Unleashed etc is the Death Metal i like.

Death. Melodic Death, to be specific.

But overall, I like death more. More variety.

 

I prefer black metal, but i loathe a lot more bands under black than death, because i dont like what black metal has become in general. The corpse paint and lyrics have just gotten out of hand, and black metal bands are not what they were about decades ago.

The only band i have ever heard of in that list was behemoth...

 

Behemoth isn't much of black metal anymore though. After Grom, they've been slowly drifting to blackened death.

 

Yea i noticed that; personally, i think Dethklok took their place...Dethklok is really good black metal actually...

Dethklok is ok but they are Death metal... not Black metal.

Main difference-
Black metal - Higher vocals.
Death metal - Lower vocals.

Black metal:

Freezing Moon with Dead on vocals. Isn't very good quality, but it's one of the best available with Dead.


Freezing Moon with Maniac on vocals. Quality is good.
