How long till RS3 game dies.

RS3 population is going down, thats a fact, and im pretty sure in terms of business it will stop being profitable to make any new content to it, and in longer time: to keep the service online.
So i think it will die just like Darkscape.

So yeah, so far lets check the nice updates of the Marketing-failure RS3 team.

- Micropay content.
- Pay to win content.
- Pay to look like Maplestory character.
- Remove Oldschool Wilderness.
- Trade limit like comunism country.
- Again micropay content.
- Totally useless skills, aka Invention.
- Make Runescape look like totally pay to win World of Warcraft, with a failure action bar.
- Also more micropayments.
- Back then get Korasie'd in 1 tick and lose full torva when you had 150000000 HP.

Worst decistions so far by OSRS:

- Let the actual players decide the actual content and not be a greedy fuckers.


I give it some very few years to RS3 and long live to OSRS.

Not anytime soon in terms of full on death. And no player of Runescape should want RS3 to die. OSRS players even moreso arguably because once RS3 dies OSRS will sure as shit become P2W and MTX Scape.

 

RS3 will not be dying anytime soon. You seem like the average 07 player that never logins to rs3 and just talks shit about it. If you don't like micro transactions then don't use them i don't get what the big deal is. It helps jagex make money, You don't have to use them and those who want to can. I see there are arguments like oh it makes the game easier but that's for other people if you don't like micro transactions you can still play the game without them.

The action bars also work fine idk what you're trying to say about it?

 

When a player can literally max out with just micropayments, buy bonds and buy armour to go into pvm (and rekt 90% of players), then there is something wrong with the game, there is nothing about "if you dont like it, dont use it" because the fuckers that use it make interference with whose that dont pay to win.

You dont have to either agree with me or not, RS3 team took stupid updates, thats why they went from 200k users online to 30-40k, and the trend im sure it will still go down, other games offer a much more better game experience, no new serious MMORPG player will go into RS3 when they know it can be a pay to win game.

Anyways, thanks to the RS3 smart updates we got a brand new game, which ofc will last longer than RS3.

 

Okay 07 players can buy bonds and sell that to the G.E for cash? I get that people can max out but that will cost them over $12,000 and i don't think anyone has actually done that apart from one youtuber.

For 07 you can rwt which can be an argument that ruins the game? It's still pay to win since you can buy gold and buy better armour than other players who don't rwt. You could also pay people to train your stats for you.

RS3 also try to release new content into the game whenever they can and have updates every monday (I don't know if 07 do the same) which help to keep players coming back as there's always something new for them to do.

 

The difference is players may rwt, buy gold and pay for services, or even botting, but the grind still has to be done.

 

I don't see the big deal you're just paying jagex for the service instead then and it's quicker. It also helps the game to develop and encourages them to release more content. If a game was earning more then they would be more motivated to work on the game and try and enhance the players experience compared to if they weren't making as much money.

Fine so you're against account sales then i assume? Since a player can just buy an account and gold and be ahead of everyone else?

 

rs3 is doing fine tbh I don't see any difference in past 2 years besides rates crashing to .10 :S

 

Im fine with accounts being sold like every game, im against how Jagex did manage their content on a game that could have much more potential than is it atm, lets be honest, a good way to see which game is popular or not is Twitch, and RS3 is almost invisible on what streaming means, that has much to do with how interested players are in the game. I think there is a reason OSRS is going up trend on the player amount, and is let actually players decide most of important updates. Dont want to be rude or something, yeah thread is little salty, but anyways have a good day.

 

I think Wow+RS will be the longest living MMORPGS.

Once Graalonline& Tibia die, and RS gets another 2 years on top of that, they will be the longest living mmorpg in existence.

But to me this game is dead.

 

Jagex will make sure RS3 stays on the same level than it currently is. The profit that generates micro transactions is too important for Jagex to drop the ball with RS3 and it wouldn't be a surprise to anyone to see them update the game within the few coming decades.

 

I will say Runescape 3's content in 2017 was largely dogshit. Maybe the worst year of content ever for any version of Runescape, and most RS3 redditors agree with that sentiment.

They need to have a strong 2018 because RS mobile will open horizons to an impressionable userbase / customer base. So they better get on their A game.

 

i foresee a disaster. I cannot imagine people playing runescape on a mobile device. On an interface level it seems too impractical on such a small screen.

 

Old School is probably going to get a good influx, Rs3 probably not.

 

40k+ players is still a shit ton of players cant see it die anytime soon.

 

New look Jagex posts record profits

Jagex had record profits this year, as referenced above. Not from OSRS I imagine, as there are less players than the main server at it's prime. However, I'm not considering the income from ventures into social media and streaming, because I'm not familiar with their value.
