    Laptop Overheating?

It overheats when I leave it on my desk open or something, I need to have it on my knee propped up on so the fan is open.

I don't know whats wrong, my laptop is only like 4-5 months old?

I have an Acer if it matters?

    ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    Laptop Overheating?

You may need a new fan/cooler for it, try change spots for it, or get it checked out by a profressional.

    Laptop Overheating?

I think I might just take it to the store I purchased it at and tell them to well, fix it.

    Laptop Overheating?

My computer is 6 months old. Whenever I open RS, the fan begins to work very loudly and the computer just completely overheats. I don't know what's wrong with it.

    Laptop Overheating?

It gets extremely warm on the bottom and then shuts off.

I don't know if thats the definition of overheating, but I need a solution for when it gets extremely warm on the bottom of it and shuts off.

    Laptop Overheating?

Sounds like overheating. You could change the switch of threshold in BIOS but that may be a bit dangerous and probably void the warranty. Check the fan for dust. Buy a cooling pad or take it back to the store.

    Laptop Overheating?

I suggest in future buying a gel/liquid cooled laptop, some games and apps really overheat the newer ones.

speaking of bios... if you go into the bios you can make the fan run on high all the time.

    Laptop Overheating?

If you have warranty then go to the store you brought it and complain its too hot to handle. Do not say its overheating...just act like a noob, they will do it.

Now, if you are going to someone else...you need to act like you know all about computers...other wise they will say...you need to change your mother board...without/with your permission, will put in their own mother board, charge you for it and service.

So be aware of the mall technicians...go for good/established computer technicians.

If he's running a half decent M/B it should automatically be on full RPM if it's hitting the thresh-hold.

Sometimes the Mobo isn't the only thing that controls fan speed...

Yeah. The System fan(s) are most likely controlled by that though.

    Laptop Overheating?

I read some more reviews, and there seems to be no other cooling issues. Take it back to the store you bought it from and complain (maybe run it first in the car so it over heats quickly if you show them).
