Some people from Rachels Challenge came to our school to talk about this and this has really affected me

On April 20,1999, the 4th worst high school shooting massacres in the United States occured. 2 students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, came into Columbine High School armed with bombs, 1 carbine, 2 shotguns, and 1 uzi killing 12 students and 1 teacher as well as wounding 23others before they had commit suicide.

Rachel Joy Scott was by one of the school entrances eating her lunch and drawing and writing.

Rachel Joy Scott was the first killed during the massacre. Rachel Joy Scott was the one who was nice to everyone and helped out all the kids who was getting picked on. One day this kid was getting picked on in the halls ways and Rachel Joy Scott hang up to the bullies and put her fists up and said, "Do you want to fight?"


Her brother, Craig Scott, was in the library during this massacre along with his 2 friends(1 black kid and 1 white kid). The 2 shooters had came into the library and planting 2 or so bombs while the 3 boys were in the library. Soon the 2 shooters came up to the 3 boys and began making fun of the black kid and calling the boy racial slurs and than shot him and than shot the other white kid(not Craig). Craig just saw 2 of his best friend die infront of him, luckily the bomb did not go off and the sprinkler system in the school went on and when it went on the 2 shooter ran away and Craig Scott was not killed.

Craig Scott is gonig into the film business to make films that influence people in positive ways rather than negative.
He is wanting to make films that are both fun to watch yet without any violence.

It's never going to happen in the world.

1) ELIMINATE PREJUDICE - You can't change the mind of everybody in the world, there will always be hatred in the world.
2) DARE TO DREAM - When people say "if you dream it, it can happen" that is a false sense of hope. Dreams will be shot down, and not everybody will or are able to reach their dreams.
3) CHOOSE YOUR INFLUENCES - With the media, and your peers, there are no goo influences in this world. IF you try to avoid it, it will follow you.
4) KIND WORDS - Kind words never hurt anybody, but people being nice will not make the world a better place if it is on such a small scale as maybe one million people compared to the worlds almost 8 Billion.
5) START A CHAIN REACTION WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY - Like I said, even if this 'Chain Reaction' influences 1 million people, it will have no effect on the world.



Plain and simple, this is just another gimic. Another attempt for somebody wishing to become famous and to make a name for themselves. There are hundreds of millions of people who wish to make the world a batter place, and none of them have succeeded.

For example, Bob Marley. He believed that, with his music, he could eliminate prejudice in the world. And look how he died.

this is serious that girl was everything but mean or negative.

there are people like pro football players who quit football to become a speaker for them. they impacted a lto of people and even president bush even know not much people like him(i think he is ok)

they spoke to many schools around the country and talekd to many famous people and on oprah and many things.

Well, obviously it wont change everyone, but it can change a lot of people. I would like to see more people in my school that were kind and nice to other people, instead of putting them down.
This one girl in my school she is not so 'popular' and has a few friends. Well she was walking down the hall to her next class and some kid tripped her and she fell and hit her head on the ground and gave her a bloody nose. Everyone stood around her laughing at her and I felt so bad. I didn't do anything to help her, but I wish I did. And some of those people who were laughing at her I really wanted to kick there ass..

I respect this thread and torque for making it.

 

like i understand that the world will never have world peace with all the prejudice and everything( for example look at sythe.org so much racist people on this site calling peopel the n word and making fun of other people of a diferent race)

I do all of these things naturally, I always look for the good in people and everybody has good in them regardless. I do nice things to and for people I have never met before though.

I honestly don't see why anyone can respond negatively to this thread. Not a lot of people actually care about how the world is, and how it will turn out.I've always respected people who do things like this, even though I agree with shakaka about it never going to happen, but its good to have nice people rub off on the bad ones and do their best to change a few.
