Riddle

Heres a little riddle, try to figure it out.


Three friends go to a hotel to spend the night. The cost of the room is $30. THey each give the hotel manager $10 for their room. The friends go to their room and the hotel manager realizes that the room is only $25 dollars so he tells the bellboy to take the $5 back up to the three friends. The greedy bellboy realizes that the friends don't know that they are getting money back so the bell boy gives a dollar to each of the friends and keeps $2.

This means that each friend payed $9 for the hotel room.
3 times 9 is 27
The bell boy kept $2.

But wait the friends origonally payed $30.

What happened to the last dollar?


Try to figure it out!

Edit: now I have the answer to this.

 

The Bell Boy went to a Strip Club, but couldn't stay long because his boss was paging him, so he only spent a dollar.

There is now Extra dollar, if he was to split it evenly with the 3 people it would be $1.67. the clerk has $25 the bell boy has $2 and 3 people have $3

25+2+3=$30

 

the bell boy was given 5 dollars to return to the friends.

he gave each friend 1 dollar back, and kept 2 dollars.

This means that each friend payed 9 dollars for the room

$9 times 3 friends = 27$

It's the way that the question is phrased. They really paid $25 between them, which, divided by three, turns out to be $$8.33 each (one penny more for one of them). Adding those up, you get $25. Add the $3, you get $28. Add the $2, and you get $30.

Normally, someone would think 27 + 2 = 29!?!?
but you're supposed to subtract. 27 - 2 = 25

The room was supposed to cost $25.

exactly since he got 5$ back he gives 3 back, then he keeps 2$ there is no extra

 

they actually paid 10$ each. 3*10=30 (3*9)+2=29
if they pay 10$ each all of the 10$ get multiplicated by 3.
if they pay 9$ each there are still 3 missing which would be 1$ for each of them.
example:
every friend pays 1x5$ and 2x2$ ---> each of them pays 9 and thats 27, that wouldn't be enough for 30$, so they pay 1x5$, 2x2$ and 1x1$.
there are 30$:
30:10=3
27:9=3
2:3=/=3
