If I were in your situation I would format your computer. First save all your important files to a disk for a flash drive. If that is not an option I would system restore.

Honestly dude, you need to get your head out of your ass. The kid was simply offering some advice that might help him no need to get your nuts in a knot.

As cool already noted it is not IE, and FireFox is very overrated. not quite sure why people like FireFox so much, It's a bit slower than IE, not many good benefits from it. and I have never had a problem with IE.

Get a resident adware scanner, virus scanner, and then download a firewall that scans all incoming and outgoing packets; such as Sygate Personal Firewall.

    Cheers.

Get my head out of my ass? You try moderating (it's not as simple as it sounds) a whole forum, with people just posting stupid things like "OMG leik it muts be da viruss you beter do a format computer or System take back!!11!!!" or just the simple " I dunno..."(yes the ellipses make it so much more worthwhile reading). How can you tell me to get my head out of my ass when I'm actually taking time out to help someone with their problem (it's the system(EXPLORER.EXE IS THE WINDOWS EXPLORER!!!)) and have idiots coming out of the woodwork left right and centre. I resent that.

Firefox is arguably the best browser available for many reasons. As for it being slow, it can be tweaked to allow for much higher speeds then IE can (type about:config in the URL bar).

Did I quote you? No I wasn't referring to you.

    Stop spamming.

    try this:
    1. Press the Windows key + R. This will open the "Run" command box.
    2. Type in: rstrui.exe [Enter]

Hmmm... try booting into Safe Mode first. Then run the system restore. If that doesn't help, Open up the run dialog again and type in "regedit" (without the quotes) and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SystemRestore
and delete all REG_DWORDs and REG_SZs (except default first entries) there ( try this as a last resort, because messing with the registry can be dangerous)
