Signature Rule Fix.

I for one totally agree on the signature size maximum because of slow loading and bandwidth consumption. But there is a better solution for people who are wanting longer or higher signatures but still wanting to keep sythe and a good speed.

I noticed that not all people use PNG images and some people could even use GIF images and they could be like 50x50 images but still take up the same amount a 800x800 PNG image. The way I reckon the signature limit should be for images is a file size.

Example:

This image and the one below will take up nearly the same KB but they are different sizes:

Notice, these are both the same size and are the Sythe.org Rules signture limits, yet, both image has a large size difference(image1 = 400kb and image2 = 11kb) when it comes to daily posters on sythe and there signature sizes.

This would also take in account for GIF images that have motion.

I am not saying there should be no limit to the height and width, I am actually for that but to make it bigger. In my opinion, the rules should be as followed (or along these lines): Signature image in total should not be bigger than 750 pixels in width and 750 pixels in hieght. They also must not exceed 500 kb in total.

I have no idea what the size in kilobytes should be, it was just an example.

I do agree in some ways that a size cap on signatures would be good. however in general large signatures are frustrating... Perhaps keep the SAME rules AND add the kb limit.

 

Well the whole point of this was to show that we can have larger signatures with more efficiency. I would want to see the size jacked up at least 100 px on both height and width AND add the KB limit.

At the moment, your signature is to high, please put the 2 small image on either sides of the big image. They would have to be nearly touching to be in the safe zone. You, because half the idea of the rule was to stop huge signatures that noobs seem to have, which are very annoying!

So a reasonable height limit (bigger than the stated one atm). ANNNND have a KB size limit Nearly all people would be pleased of this new rule I'd say

 

I think we should have a KB limit, yes, but I don't think they should change the dimensions for smaller KB pics.

 

Guys, most forums don't even allow as big as a signature space as Sythe.org does. Just keep it at the current limit.

 

I think that there should also be a KB limit for signatures. Many people upload these huge files that take up space on sythe. Try to reduce the size of signatures.

Possibly have more dedicated space for a signature the longer you have been here\post count?

That way only people who will have monster signatures will be people, worth of pissing us off? ^^

 

only problem would be enforcing this rule. and you'd have to teach everyone about raster-based and vector-based images as well as filetypes to get everyone to understand how they can decrease filesizes.

 

It would be better if users' signatures were not visible to public until they earned it... So you'd have to be cool, or be active, etc, to have a signature? If you fuck up, you lose the privalage again...
