The words : Fag and Gay

Ok so i hate when people turn these words into something that it does not mean.

Fag means (in my words): a ciggarette (or however you spell it)

Gay means (in my words): Happy

Ok so discuss on how words have gotten out of hand and name examples .

ALSO the word Homo <--------- does not mean gay, it actually is a Genus as in Homo sapians

If you are going to call someone gay using the word (Homo) you have to say Homos cuz then that means gay.

 

Fag means cigarette in Europe. Fag means gay in America. There is a big difference in meaning in different countries. Homo is just shortened from homosexual. It's not that big of a deal. I think you are overthinking this.

 

Homo does not mean gay, but Homosexual does.

never have i seen the word fag used for a cigarette or anything related like that

Gay came from people being carefree about their sexuality.

EDIT: Forgot to mention: homo means the same, as in homogenised milk -- it means the milk is the same all through the mixture.

Because everyone has their own version of words, theres no point in trying to create pointless arguments over a 3 and 4 letter words.

Fag only means cigarette in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, (a.k.a. UK and Ireland).
These are the only English-speaking countries in Europe.
If you call somebody gay here in Holland, you mean he is a homosexual. There is also have the gay-parade, that doesn't mean that is a "happy parade", maybe the people are happy, but it is a parade for homosexuals, lesbians and transvestites.

As stated before, fag dervies from faggot, bundle of sticks.

I was always taught that in alot of history books it reffered to people shouting: Burn the faggots (when homosexuals were burned) and people misunderstood what that meant and thought gay people were faggots, not sticks?

 

This is true, although the word 'fag' is a shortened version of 'faggot,' which is an offensive name for a homosexual.

These two words in particular have been manipulated by kids, and nothing can be done about it. It will be most likely to remain like such.
